A guide to a Faith/Pyromancy build?

I'll try to keep this brief. I'm new to the Dark Souls series. I beat DS1 (76 hours) earlier in the year, and recently beat DS2 (75 hours) & DS3 (54 hours). I'm now going back to DS1, because it's my favorite in the series. Also in the DkS series, I NEVER used Magic/Spells until I played DS3, and always went with strength builds, but quickly realized spells in DS3 were almost useless in comparison to the first 2 games, so I wanna go back and use spells in the first game now. Specifically, Miracles and Pyromancies.

With my Strength builds, it was always easy to pick a weapon to suit me, but I don't know what stats or weapons to go for, especially starting out. Starting class? End-game-weapons options? What should I focus Soul Levels on? Strength? Dex?

most likely u're gonna end up with 45 dex and 30 faith. Dex will help with casting faster pyromancy and lighting spears, and 30 faith is needed for some miracles

I like the Chaos Uchi because it's fast and deal a lot of damage with 10 humanity and you don't need to invest much into other stats that you don't want. I mean obviously you need the Pyro flame +5 (ascended) and since you're using miracle get the lightning spear ASAP.

Well, some are saying Dex, others are saying Dex is great, and I'm sure I'm gonna need a Dex weapon for my build. I was afraid of getting conflicting suggestions. I may just need to find out for myself.

This answers some questions, but what about starting class? Pyromancer or Cleric?

I'd go for Cleric, Pyro stars with more Int than u need, and the Cleric starts with 14 faith unlike the pyro who starts with 8. You'll also get a Talisman before fighting the first boss.
Tho Im guessing if u're Pyro u'll get the pyro glove instead.

Have u played before? In the depths there's a guy trapped in a barrel, u save him, he later goes to firelink shrine. He'll give u the glove. http://darksouls.wikidot.com/laurentius

I think if you take cleric, the earlier you can get one is when you free Laurentius in the beginning of the Depths. That's not that far into the game but it's not there completly at the beginning.
If you start as a pyromancer you'll get the pyromancy hand quickly and a talisman can be bought to the cleric merchant in the shrine, so it is easier to get early than the pyromancy hand.

Dex improves casting time on pyromancies. It *does* improve casting time, so I'd suggest you level it up.

I have played before. As I said; I'm new, but have played, and beaten all 3 DkS games, and I've put the most amount of time into DS1 at 76 hours, but I haven't played it since about March or so of this year, so it's been a bit. And yes, I've saved Lauranitus before, but he didn't have anything I needed before with my all-physical, juggernaut builds so I hardly ever bothered talking to him. btw, ring are diffficult choice... ring of the sun first's born, or ring of the sun princess, bellowing dragon crest ring, FaP? i dunno, make your choice.. you want 45 dex or not, its all your opinion.. i really suggest you to explore mugen monkey , and you should find what you want.
