Remember the first butcher?There is box behind him,and there is a hole to the big rat.Go to the right,jump down,run to the wall and slide down.There u will find shortcut to the bonfire and way to the boss.

After you find the bonfire,beware of the ceiling.
And you most likley want to do some exploring before you fight the boss,because there is a enemy that will buff the Dragon from the balcony and shoot magic at you unless you kill him beforehand.

Have you killed the Moonlight Butterfly? If you got the Watchtower Basement Key, you can skip the Depths.

This be true. You can get to Valley of the Drakes just by passing Andre. However, it's still worth traversing the Depths at least on your first playthrough, to kill the boss, if not for a quick run to the Iato and Shadow Set from Depths after the boss...

I mean, you don't need the watchtower basement key for this at all. You can easily skip to lower blighttown after arriving at the forest.

If you want an easier time, there's a very linear way to go through the Depths. You only encounter one basilisk and you pass through the area with the Channeler (the douchebag shooting magic at you). You will miss out on a few items but they're nothing overly useful save for the spider shield (found by dropping down the passage behind the butcher, in the area above the giant rat).
