Possible to play offline without Offline in steam?
I hate the messages and bloodstain all over the place,
and after reading about it, it seems it's an Online thing.

I just want to play the game without any spoiler things or weird stuff going on.
So is there a way to do so without going offline in Steam?

you can start the game, turn off the wifi, the game will go offline, turn it on agan and the game will remain offline till you go to main menu and reload the game

The messages and bloodstains are not spoilers, they are part of the game.

You can block off internet for DarkSouls.exe by AntiVirus or Brandmauer.
Or just launch Dark Souls with disabled internet and then enable it again. Game will be in offline mode and will not go back to online automatically.

Ah that might work then, to just turn off internet and on again.

And as not for spoilers, well aren't they messages from other players?
Cause for me it's just weird.

There are messages all over the places, just looks weird.
And it says stuff like.

"Hidden Path", "Ring Ahead", "Try Lightning".

For me that's basically spoilers, it tells me stuff i should figure out alone,
even if it's meant as hints, they go a bit too far, i am kinda picky about that stuff.

And then i see Shadow characters running around doing weird stuff that makes no sense,
fighting nothing, rolling around then disappearing. I just find it all weird xd

I think the easiest way to play the game offline is to use a mod like dsfix to lock the fps below 10 and set a hot key to toggle it. If your fps drops too low for like 10 seconds or something the game will auto quit the menu screen and start in offline mode. toggle back to your desired fps and there you are.

It's the way the game is meant to be played, the orange sign soapstone description tells you that messages serve to help or decieve other undead. There is no guarantee that all of the advice they give is good or true. ("Try jumping"/"Here!") Bloodstains serve as warnings and sometimes entertainment,it should become clear why when you enter Blighttown.
You can just ignore both of them, the thing is that if you play offline you wont be able to summon or invade/get invaded by real people. You can still summon and get invaded (and in one case, invade) by certain NPC's tough.

That doesnt work. In case of DS1 you should block Steam, not Dark Souls

If you would've played the game properly you'd know it's all apart of the game and the lore and is intended : >>

wouldn't it be easier just not to bother reading these signs?

Playing DS offline is like eating fries without salt.
It's nice, but not as tasty.

Well that's pretty much what i do now, not reading the signs.
No clue how it can be part of the lore to see random text all over the place though?

I guess it's something like, souls in the world communicating or whatever.
Though to me it's just weird, it would be like playing Zelda and having texts on the ground all over the place saying random stuff that makes no sense at times;P

Try reading item descriptions.

Solaire explains it when he gives you the white soapstone, the time in Lordran is convoluted,"with heroes centuries old phasing in and out". While the white soapstone allows you to be summoned by others to help them out,the orange soapstone "allows Undead to assist (or decieve) one another".

No clue if i got that, but i think i remember someone saying something like that, or reading it.

But still, it sounds neat, but the end result is just weird.

The Ghosts i see just run around aimlessly and hit the air or jump down and dies.
It doesn't give any feeling of anything.

Guess i have too objective based look on it,
i get why it's there and stuff, i just find how it's shown to be weird.
