If you abandon a covenant by joining another, it will consider it a betrayal and (if you've gained any) you will lose rank. Also, because Alvina's a stingy so-and-so, she will also refuse to speak with you afterwards and will disappear from the game.
Requesting absolution from Oswald of Carim will solve this issue, and you will be able to rejoin.
Alternatively, going straight to Oswald whilst still in the Forest Hunter Covenant will allow you to abandon it without causing the prior issues. Alvina will not disappear, nor will she refuse to allow you to rejoin. However, as you are no longer a part of the covenant the NPCs in the garden will once again attack you on sight.
This method will allow you to rejoin at any time.
Also I should say I have already killed Sif.
Despite her dialogue (and the entire purpose of the covenant), killing Sif has no impact on your relation with the covenant.
Attacking the NPCs in the garden whilst not a part of the covenant has no effect on whether you can join or not.
Damn, I'm behind on my posting times.
It might be worth abandoning them via Oswald the second time as well, in case you wish for some easy PvP later on, or to receive the rewards of the covenant.
Collector of fine wares. They're masterworks all, you can't go wrong.
Haha!
