Advice for a two handed weapon build?

So yah, I have played a little bit of the game a while ago. Got up to Anor Londo before I stopped playing but decided I might jump back in due to this Global Restart Day.

Anyway I haven't played enough to really understand builds and the intricacies of stats but last time I played I really liked the idea of building up a two handed weapon user. What's the best way to build up a two hander and any recommended weapons to take for early, mid and late game?

zwei hander in the graveyard at the begining is a good weapon 2 handed, The Great Axe in the depth is good 2 handed too. You'll find the great club and the Server in the swamp that are fun 2 handed too (server is for dexter more than str). Later in Anor Londo you'll find Tarkas UltraGreatsword that is very enjoyable with the trusting move set. In all the way you can drop a BlackKnight weapon , any of these weapon can be very fine 2 Handed. I'll suggest you to be at least 32 STR & 18(22) DEX then a better choice of weapon are usable. a strong Endurance and Vitality can help too. at last, if you want to Plan a build, you should try this : https://www.mugenmonkey.com/darksouls

PS : Shiva the East sells very good rare weapons, you have to br in forest convenant, and go in the swamp to find Shiva and buy some rare weapon

Ah sorry, looking for weapons that are used primarily as two handers, like Broadswords, Giant Axes, Polearms, etc.

Dragon Greatsword and Demon Great Machete are fun 2-handers, even though they're not strictly that. Their movesets are roughly the same either 1-handed or 2-handed. Just get the minimum Strength (34 and 27 respctively) to 2-hand them and go to town. If you go with the Dragon Greatsword, buy some repair powder.

i like the moveset of halberds (Black Knight Halberd or Gargoyle Halberd) more than the moveset of swords. prefer them in every run. You can wield the Gargoyle Halberd with 16 Str and 12 Dex (dropping either from the bell gargoyls or the ones in anor lando)

Try Smough hammer. There is something awesome in beating you enemies into bloody pulp with oversized coffee... eeh, dont know the word, google say its Turk 0_0. Anyway, that thing you brew a coffee in.

Pump STR or DEX depending on your weapon of choice (I really love Black Knight Greatsword, Demon Great Machete and Demon Great Axe, but there are a lot of other nice options like Claymore, Murakumo, Zweihander, Black Knight Sword etc...). Get some nice endurance for the stamina and equip burden in order to stay below 50% weight while using heavy weapon and armor with decent poise like Black Iron Armor and use a grass crest shield on your back for stamina regen. Havel Ring and Ring of Favor and Protection help a lot too, you can always throw in mask of the child or cloranthy ring on top, cloranthy+mask of child+grass crest shield on back makes for great stamina regen, although I tend to prefer Have+ FAP ring over cloranthy.
