Save editing for semi-legit purpose?
Well, finished DS a while ago abusing power of backups. Mostly for loot hunting. Decided to start new char and play as intended. Restored wrong backup and lost 2 of my hot undead faces. Digged into shadow copies of save file and managed to recover it. Now I have 2 save games: One with my main who is literally own every item in-game which for me is a strong motivation to keep playing, and Second with 2 hot chicks I created and heavy regression on my main. Any way to merge?

I think not, but you could make a new one and edit it with CE to make it the same

I wouldn't recommend save editing, as that can cause PVP Watchdog to flag you making it harder for you to play multiplayer.

ONLY if your stats or skills DO NOT MATCH what it should be. However, using CE certainly makes you a cheater. No IFs/ANDs/BUTs about it.

this is TRUE but what u did so far ("backup abuse") ♥♥♥♥♥ up the whole idea of hard-earned-easy-to-lose-no-save anyway. No point in not using CE then, imho
so

Thanks for your suggestions everyone! CE isn't an option for me so I'll just keep two save files and continue with my new chars for now. BTW even considering my first run was a cheesy one I still greatly benefited from it in terms of skill as my second one is a breeze.

save editing is fine as long as you dont mess with the items. dont give yourself impossible items and keys. like all 4lord souls without the lordvessel and stuff.

So let me get this right, you have 2 seperate save files you wnat to merge, in other words have all characters on one save file?

Here you go buddy , have fun!!!

here it is:
before you do any of these steps make sure you make extra backups of all your save files.
remember: each dark souls save file has 10 save slots. so know the difference between a save file and a save slot. a save slot is a character.thus you can have 10 different characters on 1 save file.

here we go.

PART 1: EXTRACT
1.in order to merge or add a save slot(a charachter) into a different save file. we need make sure we extract the save slots(character/s) first. and then import it.

2.open "Dark Souls Remake.exe" its in the DSSE folder .
download link(http://www.mediafire.com/file/twktepctltnodp8/DSSE_3.0.7.0.zip)

3.in the upper right corner, click on "Open File"

4. browse to the save file you want to extract(this should be the save file wich you want to import to another one, so NOT your main file, but aka your sidechick)

5."choose your save slot",pick yours UserData000, 001, 002, 003, etc(000 is the first character on your save file,001 is your second, 002 is your third one, 009 is your 10th save slot aka your 10th character.
if the save file only has one character on it , its most probably "000" because this is the first one.

6.once your character has loaded, you want to click on "Extract Save Slot" its above next to the green cross.

7."save slot" should be the exact same one you picked before.see point 5.
then choose your detination, doesnt matter where just remember the location(save it in a new folder and name that folder "extract" so you can remember it easily).save it.
(do NOT change the name of this , keep it at "UserDataxxx")

8.click on "Save All" right upper corner, and then exit this tool.

PART 2: MAKE A NEW CHARACTER.
1.go to NGBI folder, its in your DOCUMENTS folder and paste your main file here(DRAK005 ). There can only be 1 save file in this folder.

2.start dark souls and start a NEW GAME, do not overwrite your other character on this save , so just pick and empty save slot. just quicly make a random character and start it.
skip cutcene and then close dark souls.

PART 3:IMPORT THE EXTRACTED SAVE SLOT INTO THE NEW CHARACHTER YOU JUST MADE.
1.open "DSSE"(Dark Souls Remake.exe) again, but this time open("Open File") your main file aka the save-file you want to import the new character in.(it should be in the NGBI folder)

2.upper middle corner next to the green cross, click on "Import Save Slot".

3.read whats written and you will understand why all this is nessecery.

4."destination slot" should be the slot on which your new cheracter you just made.this is why we made a new character because we are going to overwrite this new character with your extracted save slot. remember , USERDATA000 is the first slot(character on your save), 0001 is the seconds one etc.

5.click on the button with the three dots "..." and search for the the extracted file(its in the extract folder we made beforhand.) (its the file we extracted in PART 1), the file should be somthing like this "UserDataXXX" and then OPEN it.

6. click on "SAVE ALL" and close the tool.

PART4:LOADING THE SAVESLOT(CHARACTER)
1.place the mainfile in the NBGI folder.

2.Start dark souls.

3.load up your new charcter save slot(this character slot will still show the new one you made in PART 2, this will probably be some low level random character) click/load this one.

4.after loading you will actually see that it has succesfully overwritten the new low level character you made in part 2. and now you have succefully imported s save slot from one save file to another save file.

5.quit to main menu, and now go back to loading, you will now see that the previous test slot we made has adjusted itself to your extracted save slot(character) YAY!!!!!!

Tried DSSE and got my saves merged in no time :D Thank you Test Subject! If you don't mind I'll put your instruction in OP and edit thread title to be more informative.
