Probably not worth using if you're already in NG+.

Use whatever you want, armor doesn't make a whole lot of difference anyway. It's fashion souls man.

Whether armor is good or bad depends. Do you want to be fast rolling? medium rolling? What stats are you looking for? Do you want physical defence? Elemental defence? High resistances? Do you want poise? And what also factors in is your equp load, and don't forget that you can also upgrade your armor if you know you're going to use it for the rest of the game. No armor is bad, for example, the hollow soldier laggings. They don't give the best defences, but it's super light and has high poise for it's weight, although at first glance it looks like crap.

The problem is that its un-upgradable meaning that its defense is surpassed by basically everything else that can be upgraded.

For defense-values it's shit in NG+, but defense in NG+ isn't as important as in NG+0 anyway. Everything hurts quite a lot, to keep it simple.
Fashion >> Defense is the Dark Souls 101 on top of that, so just use it when it looks cool.

I'd say the worst thing is that it has no poise, but it's very light and you can always put on the Wolf Ring for a decent bit of poise.

It can be upgraded, but it uses twinkling titanite, meaning it can only be upgraded to +5, where as normal armors can be upgraded to +10.

Bah, that's not a problem. In fact, special sets of armor need titanite slabs to get to +10, and that's a waste of slabs.

Whoops right, I always confuse it with the Gold-Hemmed Set

+5 armors are still generally less effective than +9 armors, with the exceptions being the Giants's set and the Black Iron Set--but then, that's really only because there are no heavy armor sets that can be upgraded to +10, so there's no way to compare.

Is the armor a waste of time to upgrade?

No. You can get it to +6 easily by buying Small and Large Titanite Shards.
Twinkling Titanite can be bought infinitely, too. Costs quite a bit of souls, but you can A) dupe a boss-soul or B) follow some efficient soul-farming-strats.
Titanite Chunks are only farmable and it's up to you whether you wanna spend half an hours farming Darkwraiths to upgrade your stuff.
A Slab isn't worth it for sure.

If you know that the armor you are currently wearing is going to be what you are going to use for the rest of the game, go for it. However, always upgrade your weapons and sheild first, upgrade the armor last. This way you don't waste materials on armor and end up needing it for weapons, or you end up switching what you are wearing.

♥♥♥♥. I misread again.

I thought the OP meant armor in general. Sorry.

I've always done in DS1 tanky armor builds without fat rolling but I want to try something different in DS2 I've been doing low armor dex builds so I got that armor set and I have 31 str 30 dex and 31 vit with 40 endurance because of those builds is it to late to wear this armor and change up my playstyle change what I level up? I like the fast rolling but are my stats ok for it?
