Other games that use item descriptions as a method of storytelling?
Are there any? Aside from Demon's Souls and Bloodborne, did past FromSoftware games use this style as well? Have other video games employed similar techniques before? I wanna know because I'm editing my review to better reflect what I felt about the game.

Most games use item descriptions only to describe items or say stupid jokes, I personally don't remember any other game that explains lore mostly with item descriptions.
P.S. I haven't played a lot of RPGs and games with item descriptions though.

I've played lots of modern RPGs and many of them don't even have item descriptions. I'm starting to feel like FromSoftware is the first to use this technique.

The Momodora series
The first one not so much, but the second, third, and Reverie Under the Moonlight all have item descriptions revealing little bits of lore. RUtM especially seems inspired by souls games in its combat system and atmosphere too... little things that matter.

Just had a look at it. Interesting indie series, though it looks like only III and RUtM is on Steam.

The first 2 are free over here https://rdein.itch.io/ if you want to check them out, they're pretty short.
If you ever get the chance, try the last one, it really is a gem. I picked it up not expecting much but I fell in love in the first few minutes of gameplay, I lost count how many times it reminded me of Castlevania and the Souls games during my first run.

Now that I think about it there's also Salt&Sanctuary which is straight up a 2d souls game, so no wonder there's lore in the item descriptions there as well.
