Kindle Bonfire

Kindle the bonfire by sacrificing 1 humanity; remember you have to be human to kindle it, so you need 2 huamnities if you're hollow. Certain bonfires like Firelink will already give you 10 flasks from the start.

a) git gud and you won't need to use them as frequently :p
b) restoring your humanity and kindling a bonfire will make it grant 5 more estus flasks each time it is kindled, up to a total of 20 estus flasks. The bonfires attended by Fire Keepers are prekindled to 10. Kindling from 10 to 15 requires the Rite of Kindling, a key item essential to plot progression; you'll get it eventually.
c) reinforcing your estus flasks at a fire keeper with a fire keeper soul will make it heal you for more and thus reduce your need to use them somewhat.

The Firelink Shrine bonfire is already kindles once, hence it fills 10 instead of 5 charges.

You got 10 from the Firelink Shrine bonfire, which has an attendant Fire Keeper and is thus prekindled to 10. But other bonfires are not kindled, so resting at them will only grant 5.

You have to kindle EVERY bonfire you come across, unless it gives you 10 to start. Honestly, save your humanity for the bonfires that are the last one before a boss. You don't need 10 flasks every section.
