Leaving Blighttown to get the ring
So I got all the way down to the swamp and realized that the poison buildup is just too much of a headache even with best poison resist items I have (which is the Pyro default clothing).

I googled that there is a ring that allows you to move quickly in the water that's available in the very first zone.

My question is: is it possible to go all the way back and travel to that starting zone and back without resetting the enemies? I know that they reset when I rest at a bonfire but what about travelling between levels?

being poisoned doesnt take you down that quick anyway just keep an eye on your bar and take a moss clump and an estus when required

Yeah!

You tell 'em!

You tell 'em Dad!

Or get hit by an attack that gives the Poison effect, but yes.

If you have the set from Ceaseless Discharge's fight (I believe that it's the Gold-Hemmed Set), you can actually make it across the swamp without getting poisoned, as long as you're lightrolling. Walk from the ramp into the water and stop at the corpse you'll pass on the way to Quelaag's Domain, then wait for the poison bar to drop. You should be able to make it across to Quelaag's without getting poisoned from there.

I could be mistaking it for an entirely different set, but I'm fairly certain that it was the Gold-Hemmed set.

no you're right but also spoiling since he is new and in an area more early
That's fine because I have no idea where that is anyway)
I feel like the default Pyro set provides enough poison resistance as is, at least to not worry about those darts.

The reason I was asking about the ring is because I'd be able to sprint through water areas before the poison buildup triggers the effect

yeah it's a must have (maybe there are swampy floors were u even wanna fight as well, not just watch the poison bar..."poison bar", lol...) - we were just pointing out the coping-with-poison thing cause...yaknow...dealin with the swamp and overcoming poison fear was an important and satisfying chapter during my adolence (I'm only half-kiddin)

The Swamp-Poison really isn't a big deal, it's super-slow and can be cured with a Purple Moss Chomp that you can easily farm off the little tree-dudes in the Darkroot Garden below the Blacksmith Andre in the Undead Parish.

Sidenote, the more Poison-Res you have, the longer the bar is and the longer it takes for it to deplete once it's ful, right? So you're longe rpoisoned with high Poison Res, and I assume you take more damage? So, maybe it might be smart to get poisoned quickly by stripping armor, to run through the swamp and to the non-poisonous areas/boss and to take that little bit of damage on purpose.

I sense a strong metaphor in here...

I completely forgot about that area... As in, I was never there. Last time I visited that blacksmith and went lower there was a huge NOPE there that I decided to leave for much later.

As for the moss - how long does its effects last exactly? Should I apply it before entering the swamp or upon getting poisoned?

It cures Poison-buildup and the actual Poison. You use it when you're A) poisoned or B) almost poisoned. Although there's like a second or 2 after consuming where there's no buildup... But you don't use it in advance before entering a swamp, as said it's really just a duration of about a sec.

The moss is an instant poison buildup cure. If you eat a moss clump while in the mud you'll just build up poison again, like immediately. Same for the spell you can find in there.

or what true said.

But why?
My experience with the game so far has shown that there is very little benefit to reversing hollowing other than kindling bonfires.
Practice shows that I usually don't live too long in human form anyway and I've done all bosses solo so far

Just farm the depths for more humanity if you have to. The boss in swamps is quite troublesome if you are not well prepared and Mildred helps a lot since she can tank it with no problem.

Invasion only occur when you are in human form

...which sometimes makes the difference btween terror and joy - also u use too much armor and an ugly helmet or mask (even worse ) u r right though - it might take some time to play the game human

correct
Bullett00th 2016 年 10 月 24 日 上午 9:04
Now I'm confused.

I know that I can only summon when in human form. But do I need to specifically KILL Mildred while in human form in order to be able to summon her later? Does that happen to any other bosses?

Or can I kill her while hollow, become human and then go to the next boss and summon her?

Becuase I feel like entering a bossfight in human form if I'm planning to solo it is a waste of humanity since I'm likely going to die on the first attempt.
