Gave Andre Ember, can't upgrade Zwei past +5?

As the title states, I gave Andre the ember I found in the Depths next to the butcher guy, and he had dialogue for it and all. I can't see my Zwei in the upgrade menu now that it's +5. What am I doing wrong?

The ember you gave to Andre will make raw weapons when you go to modify equipment.

So I can't make +6> weapons yet? I looked it up and it sounded that way.

Your have to ascend your weapon and you'll need large titanite shards for it. Upgrade it to +6 and not raw. The raw upgrade path sucks.

Look for new option at his menu, it should be at the top.
Also, only Andre can modify weapons by normal path to +6 and +11.

Yes you can. When you talk to him it's at the top of the menu of options called Modify Equipment. Once items are at +5 he will present you the option of ascending it to different upgrade paths. Stick with the one you're on for now.

Upgrading weapons past +5 requires you to "ascend" your weapon in the "Modify Equipment" tab.
You can later on find an Ember that can let Andre ascend your weapon twice so you can have a +15 weapon.
OR you can bring a +10 weapon to the giant blacksmith in Anor Londo, which lets you ascend it to a boss weapon, should you have the right boss soul. (For example, have a +10 falchion + Quelaag's Soul and you can make Quelaag's Fury Sword, which is one of the best fire based weapons in the game)

Reinforce Weapon =/= Ascend Weapon. Technically, going from +5 to +6, and later from +10 to +11, is ascension, not reinforcement. Use the Modify Equipment option. You will need a large titanite shard. After ascending it you'll be able to reinforce it yourself up to +10--and then you will need a new ember.
