oolacile ivory catalyst question

Does it work well with offensive sorceries like great soul arrow? Based on it's description I'd guess no but It might since it allows me to cast those spells.

My int is at 40 would sorc catalyst be better?

Does the ivory catalyst boost the duration of oolacile sorceries like hidden weapopn or cast light?

At 40 int you might want to use Logan's or Beatrice's catalyst for the best results iirc
And no, it does not increase the duration of the oolacile spells

ah well I just compared sorc and ivory and sorc deals more dmg. So I guess I bought ivory for nothing. I dunno how to get Logan's or Beatrice's catalysts

If I remember correctly you would be better off using the tin catalyst for regular or crystal sorceries for max damage or manus for dark sorceries. Although I would recommend to test all options you have with the same spell on the same enemy.

Not sure. But you have to keep her alive during four kings fight to get it I think

All right well right now I only have sorc and ivory xD not sure which area to go to next (just finished anor londo, farming blue titanite chunks to get my estoc to +5 enchanted)

new londo for four kings, archive for logan's quest and seath. Demon ruins for bed of chaos or catacombs for nito.

I know where I can go I just dunno which I'd be well equipped to deal with. I've only leveled my int so far so I feel pretty underpowered against everything resistant to magic xD

Then avoid archive. A good direction would be demon ruins. Much easier I think

If you're a pure magic user your build is good. But you should at least get 16 attu. For the slots. Your strength and dexterity doesn't need to be higher than what you need to wield your weapon in one hand since it is infused it scales off with your int or deals additional magic damage I don't remember that infusion 100%. More vit and endurance are always nice but I've seen worse builds. Just bump up vitality if you feel like you're a bit behind or endurance to dodge. You could get havels off by bumping up endurance and get a sorcery ring power or duration boost. The hornet ring is up to your playstyle.

Edit : you might get a better catalyst but this one is a good one anyway.

At over 40 Int the best catalysts are Logan's and Crystal. If you've been to Blighttown you can get the Crimson set (the red plague doctor set) and it's got some of the best stats for magic users. Other than that the Black Robes you get in Demon Ruins have good stats for magic users as well. Keep Havel's Ring for fast rolls and swap the other ring to Bellowing Dragon to buff your magic damage even more. Save about 5 stat points on your build in case you can cut Seathe's tail. The weapon you get has pure magic damage and requires 16 strength, but those stat points are wasted if you don't get it. Pump attunement too for more spell slots. At end game (or in NG+ cycles) you're going to want the Crystal (Crystal Soul Spear, Homing Crystal Soulmass, and Crystal Weapon) and Dark spells (Pursuers and Dark Bead) and as many copies as possible. You need 44 Int for Pursuers. Going 50 for damage is also fine but I probably wouldn't go higher. At 50 int + Dusk Crown + Bellowing Dragon + Logan's or Crystal Catalyst and you'll be one shotting things left and right. Also pump Vitality after you've gotten enough attunement because mage builds are typically glass cannons.

By save 5 stat points I don't mean have the souls obviously but factor in 5 points in your build for the strength, but don't invest them. If you can cut his tail dump into strength. If you can't dump those into something else like Vitality, Endurance, or Attunement.
