Catalyst for dark sorceries
I'm wondering whether the Tin Banishment Cata will outdamage Oolacile Ivory at 16 Int and 45 dex, strictly on DLC sorceries such as Dark Bead, anyone can provide some info?
Just for the record, I do not plan on increasing Int stat

iirc ivory catalyst doesn't scales with anything, making it better for low int builds.

(might be wrong tho)

Ikr, but I wonder whether the Tin Banishment would outdamage Ivory because of dex scaling (on dark sorceries only)

What dex scaling? as fas as i know, dex affects cast time, the more dex, the faster the spell casting, regardless of your catalyst

From the wiki
Dark sorceries deal physical damage in addition to magical damage, and deal more damage to stamina and poise than standard sorceries.
The magic damage scales with the INT scaling of the equipped catalyst, and the physical damage scales with the STR and DEX scaling of the equipped catalyst.

Tin Banishment has a dex scaling

"With 40 DEX and 32 INT, the Tin Banishment Catalyst will out-damage the Sorcerer's Catalyst and Logan's Catalyst, but only when casting dark sorceries."

Wrong stat spread. The short answer is, no one here knows offhand. But, neither catalyst is hard to acquire. So, just test it out.

Welp, seems like I'll have to wait until I collect Dark Orb

??????? Oolacile ivory doesn't scale and has the highest mag adjust below 30 int
Spiderbuff Oct 21, 2017 @ 7:36am
as a sorcerie you need int more than anything else because your damage come from your spells, not your melee (well, tecnically have moonlight greatsword but, nothing else will help you).

I have a sorcerie lv 160 with 50 int 33 dex 50 vit and 53 endurance 18 strength, so i know the first thing you have to do as sorcerie is put 50 inteligence before anything.

False. Chaos and Lightning weapons exist.

I believe you guys are under a false impression that my char is a sorcerer
Nothing farther from the truth actually, I just use OIC to buff my weapon sometimes
And as AnKalameet has stated, for invasions I use chaos +5 weapons

The ivory catalyst sucks. It's only good for if you're a mage and for some reason decide to kill the hydra before you start leveling up at all. Go with the tin one, dude.

The Ivory Catalyst has the best magic adjust below 27 Intelligence, which he probably is. The question is whether the dex scaling on dark sorcery outweighs the reduced magic adjust. If you know for a certainty that it does, that's useful information. What you posted was not.

Ivory catalyst doesn't have any dex scaling, which the tin one does.
