(might be wrong tho)
Dark sorceries deal physical damage in addition to magical damage, and deal more damage to stamina and poise than standard sorceries.
The magic damage scales with the INT scaling of the equipped catalyst, and the physical damage scales with the STR and DEX scaling of the equipped catalyst.
Tin Banishment has a dex scaling
"With 40 DEX and 32 INT, the Tin Banishment Catalyst will out-damage the Sorcerer's Catalyst and Logan's Catalyst, but only when casting dark sorceries."
I have a sorcerie lv 160 with 50 int 33 dex 50 vit and 53 endurance 18 strength, so i know the first thing you have to do as sorcerie is put 50 inteligence before anything.
Nothing farther from the truth actually, I just use OIC to buff my weapon sometimes
And as AnKalameet has stated, for invasions I use chaos +5 weapons
