Download the missing file and drop it where your game is installed. Remember, DSfix doesn't always work for people, so you can also try completely uninstalling everything, restarting WIndows, then doing a fresh install and trying the game without DSFix, first.

DON'T use NMM when modding Dark Souls, it only complicates things. Install everything manually. DINPUT8.dll is one of dsfix's files, I suggest reinstalling dsfix and making sure it works properly before installing any other mod.

is there somewhere to get other than nexus or do I just install it manually threw nexus?

You know you can download mods manually from the nexus, right? No need to go through NMM. Then you just unzip the archives yourself and follow the instructions in the readme or on the mod page.

Sounds like you need to make Dark Souls moddable. You have to use a separate program that's available on the Nexus that lets you unpack Dark Souls so that you can install mods. Usually these things are listed in the "required add ons" part of the website, or whatever they call it. It will say on the mod instructions.

This is what the instructions say to use the dsfix

How do I use it?
1) Delete previous version of the mod if you have any
2) Place the contents of the .zip into the game's binary directory. (The place where DARKSOULS.exe is)
(this may be something like C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition\DATA)
3) Adjust the settings in DSfix.ini as desired
4) Adjust the keybindings in DSfixKeys.ini as desired
IMPORTANT: turn OFF the in-game AA option, otherwise you *will* get graphical issues
See DSfixKeys.ini for a list of keybindable actions, including screenshots.

What are you trying to do, exactly? I'll do my best to help.

I was watching this video on how to get game to work and was following his instructions on the framerate and stuff that he adjusts and I am kinda going threw what he adjusted to see what I can do to get it working with no changes to like how it was before, I think I may have got it working, my problem may have been with unlocking framerate to 60 max so I turned that down to 50 and put everything else at default except the skip intro and the texture override for mod stuffs and everything seems to be working so far

Ah, I see now.

So, some things about the framerate you might want to know.

If you unlock the framerate using DSFix, and play the game past 35FPS, the game's physics will break at some point. For most people, they just end up falling through ladders, but for others (like me!) you will just randomly fall through the floor and die for no reason. The game doesn't like it, so I recommend capping at 35.

The problem with DSFix, is it was made in about 5 minutes. Durante developed it further for about two years, but it still was never perfect for every user. When I was running PTDE, I didn't even use DSFix. I just played the game normally, had a slowdown here and there and it was fine. DSFix broke my game, for whatever reason.

Anyway, glad you got it to work. I hope you enjoy the game as much as we all have on these forums!

Also, when I kick enemies it seems to launch me backwards a few feet and my character seems to run ahead of my screen like if I go backwards my guy goes off screen for a second and running forwards and to left and right my guy seems to kinda run ahead and my screen kinda has to pan up kinda to keep up
