Lightning spear (miracle) viable

I made a post earlier asking about the sunlight spear when I meant to ask about the lightning spear

I apologise for this, my baby is keeping me awake and my brain is not working properly

Anyhow, is the lightning spear a viable miracle for end game? I have had a hard time engaging in jolly cooperation to get sunlight medals

Also I'm running a faith build that I might take via strength or just pure Faith

Are the partizan or winged spear good weapons to make divine?

I am contemplating using the great club cause it's a weapon that I enjoy if I do decide to go through a str/fth build

The Sunlight maggots (small non agressive insect like beasties) in Demon Ruins/lost Izalith passage, big passage to the right before the Demon Firesage boss, drop Sunlight medals as a loot (as well as Red Chunks rarely).

Lightning Spear does 2.7 * Talismans Magic Adjust Damage

and

Great Lightning Spear does 3 * Talismans Magic Adjust Damage

So just a difference of 0.3 but with Ring of Suns First Born and Crown of Dusk and maybe Power within also, that 0.3 can still be significant

As a comparison:-

Sorcerers Soul Spear also doess 2.7 * Catalyst Magic Adjust and Crystal Soul Spear Does 3.2 * Catalysts Magic adjust, both have only 4 castings but INT builds can get multiple copies eventually

Pyromancers Great Fireball also does 2.7 * Flames Magic Adjust and Creat Chaos Fireball also 2.7 * Flames Magic Adjust but with added 1.8 if enamy connects with any of the lava patches.

So yep Lightning spear can be viable for a heavy Faith build.

Any non special weapon can be a good Divine weapon for a faith build....

It as always comes down to what movesets you prefer.

But the Silver Knights Spear comes with Divine damage as standard (and then there is Ornstiens Spear) so... In my opinion making a spear divine is a waste.

but if you lvl faith and not dex?
I never played with divine spears, just asking, cause you make a weapon scale with your faith by divine path.

If you want to lvl str then it's best to use normal upgrade, you can even buff then with miracle. Great club is one of the best str weapons imo (though in general the "best" wepons are more dex/str or dex, doesn't matter too much though)

Lightning spear is a lot of fun and works fine in PVE on a faith build (PVP is difficult), it does require some carefulness, tho (position and timing). Casting time gets faster by having a lot of dex, one reason for dex/faith.

I've read that it's not that significant tho

Yes, lightning spear is pretty amazing

made the gargoyle fight very easy

I have never been one to recommend Weapons as I find they are a personnel thing in Dark Souls.

Gargoyles Halberd is one I do though on many of my Faith builds as it comes with a tiny bleed defence bonus so synergise well when fighting skellies. However I tend to make 2 to 4 Faith/ Occult weapons 'cause I like choice.... "The Number Nine Iron today I think..."

But ultimatly it comes down to an individuals playstyle, what physical stats they take, which movesets they like. Most are viable especially with practice.

Hmmm. *nod* Good point, though the split damage factor may still make them closer than first thought.

I feel an experiment coming on.

Also I tend to go Faith Spellsword with my faith builds so never go above 30 Faith thus allowing a good chunk to go towards a physical stat and if I go Faith/ Dex then I have the Dex and with Faith/ Str I steer away from spears anyway and Faith/ Quality tends be my Ornstien Cos Play cause of the 3 stat investment for just the weapon.
