Character Creation
This part is important to me. Any advice on how to make good looking characters? Oh and (semi)realistic characters, no "MISS LORDRAN for MISS UNIVERSE"(I'm obviously alluding to those monstrosities). I can pull random sliders to the extreme position without any help, heh.

So, any advice, link to a good guide, etc?

this game's sliders are realllllyyyyy bad. Either they hardly make a difference or effect other parts of the face so drastically you'll end up with an alien if you play around with them too long. Just stick to the best looking preset (i usually do astora noble or delta farmer because they have the least 'potato-looking' faces) and a good-looking hair. If all else fails just wear your best helmet (i usually go with the elite knight's helm or any hat that doesn't

i know the hardships of having a ♥♥♥♥♥♥-looking character because i take it really seriously as well but in this game making something that looks good and distinct is impossible.

What I do is start with a generic premade face then go through each slider, pushing it each way a little.

Use the buttons to increment in 10 rather than one, give it a couple of clicks and see what the difference is. Now go a couple of clicks the other way. Which one looks better?

Now push the slider further in the 'good' direction and see what the effect is. Better or worse?

When you transition from looking better to looking worse, leave it somewhere around there. Move to the next slider. Rinse and repeat.

At the end you won't have a potatoeshopped cover girl nor some fugly troglodyte.

It's pretty hard to make good looking characters outside a few presets, it might also not make much difference if you end up being hollowed or using helmets for a large part of the game anyway :)

The Jubilant Catarina and the Happy Easterner are completely fine by themselves. Why would you want to edit your face in Dark Souls, a game where YOU PUT ON A HELMET THAT COVERS YOUR FACE STARE AT THE CHARACTER FROM BEHIND.

You should be trying to edit rump.

Regardless, I managed to create a character I'm proud of. Perhaps with a bit of editing I could use him as a concept for other, more customizable and story driven games. He's really an archetype, he just needs a cloak or a cape alongside that sword, crossbow and hard leather. Not the hood, cloak / cape would suffice.

Now to tinker around and see whether I can make a character for Stone Knight / Guardian sets. I already have a plan for using either of those + Claymore or Astora's. I just need to tinker with a face and, most importantly, the hair(+color). What'd go better with those two sets: brown or blonde? I don't really think black would fit.
