Class for Guts build

I'm planning on starting a new game with a Guts build. I know the items I need, but which class should I pick and which stats should I focus on?

Maybe bandit will do... and then focus on strength, hp and stamina?

Knight would be a good starter stat-wise, but seeing Guts's old past as a mercenary...bandit could do nicely.

Knight might be better stat-wise, but I won't have to wait until the valley of drakes to get the bandit's trousers if I go bandit. I'll probably go with the bandit class.

he did rape guts, clearly any build based on him has to be better.

I'd prefer post-eclipse Guts.

If you gave us the list of gear you want to use, we'll have a better idea of what your stats will be and what would be the best choice.

I assume you're going with Greatsword and maybe the Avelyn?

Post-Eclipse Guts:

- No helm (Black Hair - Swept Back)
- Balder armor
- Knight/Elite Knight Gauntlets
- Chester's Trousers/Wanderer boots/Boots Of The Explorer (its the one that most resembles Gut's boots)/Leather Boots/Wanderer boots.

Right Hand:
- Black Knight Greatsword (The one that most resembles the Dragonslayer), you can use Dragon Greatsword, Man-Serpent Greatsword, Demon Great Machete, Great Lord Greatsword, Greatsword (this one resembles his old sword tho, isnt "fat" enough, if only it looked like the one from DS2...), Abyss Greatsword or Cursed Greatsword of Artorias. You should meet the requirements for the weapons to use it with one hand cause Guts can swing the Dragonslayer with only one hand.
- A dagger

Left Hand:
- Avelyn (ofc)
- Pyro Flame with "Fire Orb" or "Great Fireball" (for his Cannon Arm)

Rings:
- Havel's Ring, Ring of Steel Protection, Red tearstone ring (he usually kills his targets when hes almost dying), Wolf Ring, Ring of Favor and Protection (to copy his endurance and vitality).

Items:
- Estus Flask (Elizabeth's Mushroom would be better, to copy Puck's Elf Dust and its slowly regenerating effect)
- Firebomb/Black Firebomb (He started to use them only later tho)
- Throwing Knife

This one tries to copy Guts just after the eclipse, with no armor upgrade (The one that Rickert did)

The best class for a Guts build is the Greatsword.
