As many will say, easy mode is just ruining the game. And you wouldn't even see much of the story. The story doesn't even make much sense with an ''easy mode''
You should play normal if you buy the game. If you just care about loer see some Youtube videos.
you always have the option to use cheats

Are you gonna play online anyway?

You don't play this game for the story. There's not much story told. There is plenty of lore, but most of it is told in descriptions of items.. Dialogue is sparse, the most story you get is from the openings cutscene and one dialogue with an NPC you can easily miss. So if you want to enjoy the story, you could check a wiki. If you're not into the combat, this game is not for you.

Then there is no reason to worry about bans. Anyway, there are no banns in this game.

But, that said, the game has several built-in easy modes:
- Greatshields
- Heavy armor
- Sorcery and pyromancy
- actually gitting gud

all of the above make the game so easy to the point of trivializing most of it

The Prepare to Die Again mod has an easy mode option. I'm not exactly sure how it works though:

As others have said, there are built in easy modes already. tbh the game is supposed to be hard because the world of Dark Souls is supposed to be unforgiving and grim. It's supposed to feel like the world they built is feasible. That's actually the reason the creator stated for the game's relatively high difficulty. When you make the game easier, you create a sort of dissonance between the world and the gameplay. imo that makes the whole experience less enjoyable, but to each their own.

The easiest mode I can think of is watching someone else play it.

Also kindling bonfires and summoning help.

Nah man, 20 estus isn't overkill at all, I definitely need all 20 of those just to fight asylum.

IMO there is nothing to experience in this game except for the way its designed....the constant dying and difficulty is the entire experience. thats why its good......this game would be boring AF if not for that. There are some incredible lore videos on youtube if you just wanna absorb the "story"

Damn, man, did you even try the game? Trust me, people tend to exaggerate things. If you don't rush and take your time, the game is very doable.

Good tip for a beginner: use a bow to pick enemies one-by-one. You don't have to have the stats, just use it to aggro enemies to come after you so you don't have to deal with being outnumbered all the time.

Most of the difficulty of this game come from the bosses. But you can simply summon a player or an NPC (when available) to help you out.

Also, watch out for people telling you that playing a mage is easy mode. Granted, playing a mage is indeed easy mode, but only if you know what you're doing, since the best sorceries don't come that early.
