Durante's DSfix is old technology.
The remaster does not have a washed out look. There was some footage that was recorded with a high in-game brightness / gamma setting a few weeks ago.
There is now plenty of new footage and the game is not washed-out at all.
Ugly 800x600 texture will still look ugly in 4K. More pixels does not mean better quality, just more points to compute.
Just waiting for people to use enhancment mods like DSfix in remastered. And it will happen.
I personaly tried PS4 net test and it is looking good for what it is, but it is same lvl of graphics as DSfix, nothing more to expect - game play is generaly same (no dupes, no mods vs. some quality of life improvements).
Also, nowadays pc should run 7yrs old game 60FPS no problem.
From what I've seen, most, if not all effects have been significantly improved and also even cast light onto the world.
Looks better to me.

Though admittedly, it's kinda weird seeing leather armor not reflect like metal anymore.
Woah, what? The environments look a lot better not only because of the new textures, but also the new specular effects.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the OP only ever saw the old footage.
Lightning also is better in the orginal as wel u cant say no to that.

I still see a washed out smearing low-res effect on the remaster.
Folk who played the durante fix with a high end pc would understand what i mean.
The durante fix is still more superior then the remaster.
Here is a good example enjoy ;)
Brightness is out of its place as wel in the remaster its to greyish and bland.

I thought u where dutch because of your profile name but u from italy it seems.
In short i said check the video vs the orginal durante and remaster the orginal still got better lightning effects then the remaster, also black level tints are better in the orginal feels more creepy.
Lighting is definitely better in the remaster, and that washed out smearing you are referring to is the motion blur, which can be disabled. I'm not a fan of motion blur, and I agree it looks terrible, but since it can be turned off, it doesn't really matter all that much. Though, I've never understood why anyone would ever want to use motion blur, and it seems like a terrible idea to use it in preview footage. But it is, what it is.
Here's a better detailed comparison of the changes between the original PC version with DSFix and the Remaster version on PS4. Keep in mind that the comparison of the DSFix footage is running at a slightly higher resolution and doesn't have that god awful motion blur. Even still, the Remaster still looks significantly better in my opinion. The PC release of the Remaster, will also quite likely look even better than the PS4 version does.
