Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Again MOD (For those who can't wait for the remaster)
I do apologize if this has already been posted or is common knowledge, but I wanted to share a link to a mod that I've had an incredible experience with in the hopes that some of you will enjoy it as well!

This mod shuffles enemy, item and bonfire locations to provide that "first time playing" feeling. It also adds cut content enemies, cut content items and new NPC types (especially in Darkroot Garden). The real kicker is that it does this all in a smart, intuitive and lore friendly way. Seriously good stuff. Check it out!

EDIT: As of version 3.0, some of the boss fights have been revamped to add to the "fresh" experience the mod offers. Highlights include Capra Demon, Iron Golem, Pinwheel, and, of course, Bed of Chaos. Those aren't the only that are tweaked, though. Check it out!

This is not my mod, just sharing it.

LobosJR plays through the mod. (NOTE: This is an old version. Mod has been updated since this playthrough. Also, spoilers...duh...):

So what do you do if it doesn't work?

It says:

One or more of the main directories are loaded from unpacked libraries. Some mods might not show up in-game.

To change this, go to Settings - Modify EXE

What does that mean, and how do I fix it?

I got it working. My problem is I have two instances of Dark Souls installed on my computer, the Steam version and a cracked version. I was patching the cracked version and then trying to play the Steam version. Silly me! Now that it works, though, it's been a blast. I'm using the perma-gravlord version and boy does it keep you on your toes. Thanks for the suggestion!

There is one thing I've started to notice in this mod. It seems like whenever I leave a area and come back to it without using a bonfire, the mod tends to load some of the dead enemies in, but they are alive again. Sometimes some single enemies aren't beeing loaded in at all.

One example would be LobosJR vod above. The knight in the Taurus demon arena is missing in his game. It isn't that bad, but I just got hit by dark magic from a place, where all enemies were already dead. I also had this in the beginning. I went to New Londo right after the Asylum to check some of the changes out. Went back by using the elevater (no bonfire was used) I used to get there in the first place and the hollow knight is back alive all of a sudden.

Yeah, I noticed that too when watching the VOD. This sounds like good stuff for the mod developer to know so he can fix it (if he hasn't already). Do you have a nexus account? If so, please share this on there; I'm sure the author would be super appreciative.

Dead enemies can respawn in vanilla Dark Souls if you travel far enough away from their spawn point, even if you don't die or use a bonfire. How deep into New Londo did you go?

Only the very beginning where all the hollows are. Didn't cross the bridge

Ah, I see. I just had it happen to me as well. It seems that the mod vastly decreases the distance you have to travel for enemies to respawn. Kind of annoying, but not a deal-breaker. Maybe the mod's files mess with a parameter?

Guess you can still speed run the usual route in this game without much interruption.
Yeah the arena mobs are annoying though.

I stopped playing the actual game a while ago so it was kind of refreshing.

I saw Lobosjr play this mod on twitch and it blew my f*cking mind. I loved some of the bonfire locations it spawned for him during his playthrough. He had a bonfire location at the bottom of blighttown that gave you this amazing view of a huge portion of the swamp. He had to go afk for a few minutes during his stream and the view plus his character sitting/waiting at the bonfire was beautiful. It gave off this atmopsheric vibe you can't get from the original blighttown bonfire (in that cave thing). I can't wait to play this mod myself.

Ikr? It's a great mod, one that I'm proud to be supporting and testing. I love Lost Izalith's lore and aesthetics and this mod finally, finally gives it its due. The author is currently working on editing the boss fights to tune up some of the more...lackluster ones (Pinwheel, Nito, Bed of Chaos). How he can change the Bed of Chaos to make it actually fun is beyond my understanding, but I'm excited to see if he can pull it off.

Installed it today. Haven’t experienced any cut enemies/items or bonfire changes yet though :/ and I’m up to Andre.
Do they appear later or you reckon something’s gone wrong?

Did you launch the game through DSDAD after pasting all the files in that program?

Yes. I’ve experienced some changes such as enemy and item placements. Was just wondering if there were any early bonfire replacements aha.
