Uchi vs Iaito vs Chaos Blade vs Washing Pole.
Anyone know if one is objectively the best? I'm collecting them all (obviously have to sacrifice one to make the chaos blade) but I'm wondering which one to make my main.
Also, anyone know a way to farm/find large titanite before the giant blacksmith? I've kind of forgotten...heh heh heh heh heh...

With 40 dex the weapons range as follows when it comes to damage: Chaos Blade, Uchi, Iaito, Washing pole. As for large titanite shards you can farm the slugs at the bottom of Blighttown, opposite side of Quelaags (near the big tree that leads down to Ash Lake).

Oh yeah forgot about the slugs.
Are you saying CB is the least damaging?

No, Chaos has most. Also, you can buy large titanite from the vendor in the top of Sen's Fortress.

Chaos blade is most damaging washing pole is the least

CB is the most damaging fully upgraded and with 10 humanity

CB is the most damaging, with 40 dex and at least 10 humanity. Next is the Uchi, then the Iaito. The Washing Pole outdamages the Uchi and Iaito with a quality (40/40 str/dex) build, but still can't match the CB.

CB, Uchi, and Iaito all have the same swing speed. Washing Pole is slower.

Also note that you need to have 10 "held" humanity (the number next to your health and stamina bar) for the Chaos Blade to have it's full damage.

Ah ok.
Is the chaos blade's self-damage large enough to be irritating?

The self damage is 20 health if I remember correctly. Doesn't sound like much, but for PvE it can be substantial against bosses with a lot of health.

Farming large titanite ? Depending where you are in the game , in front of the bonfire in the Depths, the slugs on the ceiling will drop large and green titanite, then as mentioned the slugs around the great tree in Blighttown, of course wearing the gold coveteous ring and having 10 soft humanity increases random drops, but for me the fastest way and most consistant way to obtain large titanite is to wear the silver coveteous ring and farm souls and buy the large titanite from the giant blacksmith...the giants drop alot of souls in Anor Londo, hope that helps.

If you're going for a PvE build you can equip the Ring of the Evil Eye to offset the health drain from CB. In PvP it's negligible, though obviously if you've only got a sliver of health left you should stop swinging it.

The self damage is nothing to be bothered by. Just makes you be a little more careful. Chaos Blade is such an amazing weapon, but a great second choice is the Uchigatana. The extra range from the Washing Pole is okay, but mainly you get so close to things in this game you don't really notice. Iaito is badass for the R2, but it's the lowest damaging Katana. They are all close enough in damage that they are all great, though.
