Game won't launch with DsFix
So I've recently bought a 5TB hard drive and dragged my steam folder from my old hard drive (which I still use) to my new one.

I got my steam out of my C:/Program Files (x86) and swap it to my Z:/Steam, every single one of my game works perfectly.... except for Dark Souls when I use DsFix.

I can launch the game and I disabled both option for DsFix to work. Problem is, since I switch my steam from disk C to Z, the game simply won't open when I click play. Steam show me playing DS for like 5 seconds and friends see that i launched the game. Game is running as administrator and my task manager show Dark Souls running for a few seconds but then, poof, nothing.

Game simply close and nothing happen. Remove all DsFix files, game open and work fine. So is it simply because my steam folder isn't following the "C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/Steamapps/common/Dark Souls Prepare to Die"?

is normal when DSfix is activated for the first time.

You must open the game without active DSfix, create a character and play, just when the cinematics are finished (when you can take the key to the corpse and escape) close Darksouls and activate the DSfix with that should enough, the error is when there are no active games even what I hope will happen to you

"Game simply close and nothing happen. Remove all DsFix files, game open and work fine. "

I really don't understand what's so hard to understand in "It work fine without Dsfix"

So for anyone not getting it. game used to run 100% fine with Dsfix on old hard drive. I move my steam folder and try all my games, everything work. DS refuse to launch with Dsfix.

So here's what I did:
-Uninstall Dsfix
-Launch game
-Load character
-Play for a few minutes
-Close game
-Install Dsfix
-Click play
-Steam show I play the game
-Steam say I no longer play games and dark souls is no longer in a "Running" status
-Uninstall Dsfix
-Click play
-Game launch
-Load character
-Verify AA and occlusion are off (they are)
-Close game
-Install Dsfix
-Click Play
-Game doesn,t launch
-Running status disappear

So yeah. I hope this is clear. The game worked fine before. Maybe the mod is made only to work if it goes through C;/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Dark Souls Prepare to Die/DATA and not if it goes anywhere else?

No, mine's in c:/steam, and on my previous computer it was on d:/steam. Does it work if you just remove DINPUT8.dll?

No it doesn't.

Mine is installed on D drive.

I had a similar problem a few years ago with Skyrim I believe. I couldn't find the solution. I can't remember but I believe I wiped Steam entirely and reinstalled everything.

Yes Dinput8.dll is the thing that prevent the game from launching but also make the mod work

Did you try downloading the mod again? Maybe it's missing a file.

If that doesn't work then uninstall and reinstall the game.

Already did reinstalled the game twice and downloaded the mod about 10 times.

Nothing seem to work but I found out some people ar ejust unable to use the mod for some obscure reason.

BUT HEY! Everything will be fine on may 25th:praisesun:
