DSFIX not saving

I was wondering if I could get some help with this. I am wanting to play the item randomizer mod, everything is installed correctly (i think), everything is unpacked. I run the game and everything is randomized. It is all fine, but when I quit the game and go back in everything resets to what it was before I made the save file. (Meaning that any deleted save files appear back or any changes made to any of the files just go back to where the character was before). I picked up a helmet and went to Firelink shrine. I left the game and went to the character selection screen, the character that I was playing had the helmet on in the portrait of the character and it said that he was in Firelink shrine, I go back into the save file and I go right back to where I was before I picked up the helmet and before I went to Firelink. Please help.....

I don't think this has anything to do with dsfix, sounds like the game is having trouble writing to the savefiles... try running both steam and the game as administrator, and/or check the permissions for the save folder, which is in your user folder under Documents\NBGI\DarkSouls

I have done both of these and it still doesn't seem to be working...

Check if your antivirus is blocking DS. If so, make an exception for the .exe

It was just an idea that worked for someone else before.
Something handling security is preventing the program to write to disk, as it seems.

Let's rewind a bit. Did the game save before you added the item randomizer?

When you added the app exception for your AV suite, did you choose both DarkSouls.exe and DarkSoulsItemRandomizer.exe?

Do you have any other security suites active? Could you list them all?

I just tried excluding the randomizer.exe and it didn't work sadly. The character I made was new. I do not have any other security suites

(Most of) Windows Security should be off if you have a 3rd party suite active, but check it anyway.

I don't know, man. Other than the savefile location having full admin read/write access and/or an overzealous AV suite, I don't know what else it can be.

It doesn't seem to be a common issue with the mod itself.

Okay, now that I have reinstalled everything, unpacked the mod and made the seed. When I leave the game and try to load it back in it crashes...

Yeah, it has just went back to what the issue was before...
