Go up the stairs and there is a space between the wall and the rail. Stand there to avoid the fire and the dragon will eventually jump down. Run past it.

WAIT NO DONT LET HIM KILL IT. buy like 30 arrows and shoot it from under the bridge in the tail, if you do that the tail falls off and you get one of the strongest early game weapons with a magic attack.

under the big bridge is a way back to the first area (kick the ladder down)
on that bonfire you can reverse hollow to become a human = host a multiplayer
also from that bonfire go down to the 2 spear with shield hollows, down there is a merchant sells a bow and arrows

Don't even bother. Use it as a crutch for now, if you need it. Then throw it away when you can upgrade your normal weapons to +10.

Make sure you cut it's tail, even if you got the Drake Sword. Otherwise, the Dragon can heal itself when it's on top of the castle. You disable it's healing if you remove it's tail.

I let the dragon live, it makes for easy early game soul farming when you get him to incinerate the undead up there after each rest.

that weapon is hidden for a reason.
Not great at all, unless you know the game/combat well already.

You will end up using it and thinking it's great and complaining about "artificial" difficulty (other weapons improve with your level and actuallly have useful reach and movesets)
