ACCIDENTALLY KILLED ANDRE THE BLACKSMITH NEED HELP
I had just finished purchasing stuff from andre and my controller glitched and i hit him so I had to kill him. I needed Andre to upgrade my sword to +5 but hes dead now. I understand I can't get him back but can someone tell me where the nearest blacksmith is.

OP, pin this immediately so other newbies know this. Also I know what glitch you're talking about. At least I think I do. I run Dark Souls 1 in windowed mode and if I alt+tab to switch windows temporarily and then click back into the game my character will do an R2 attack every time I exit a menu. So if you exit a menu near a NPC you will probably hit them. To fix it you have to attack with an r1 or r2 WITH YOUR mouse and then it should reset it.

Rickert of Vinheim can be found in New Londo Ruins, really at the start of area. BUT he is not equil to Andre, he can't upgrate your weapon to +15 (for example).

It's best to restart the game, honestly. Without knowledge of in-game items, it'll be hard for you to proceed in the game without Andre.

Rickert's location was mentioned above, there's also a blacksmith in the Catacombs.

For future reference, once you've defeated the Gargoyles, if you accidentally aggro an NPC you don't want aggroed, it's best to go to the top of the area where you've fought the Gargoyles and purchase an absolution from the NPC there. This will calm all aggroed NPCs down.

Just switch to magic or a weapon that upgrades with special material. No Andre is needed anymore, and you saved 20k by getting his drop.

There's a blacksmith in New Londo Ruins, the Catacombs, and in another area, which I will not spoil.
