HELP ! : Ornstein & Smough are kickin my ♥♥♥ (I'm around level 60)
I am right now stuck fighting Pikachu and Snorlax, I have been so close to killing them with Solaire help but since my build is Jack of all Trades Master Of None basically I have nothing in particular to use against them. Is there someone around here that can help me? I have been stuck over here for like 6 hours already and I have only 4 humanities left and don't want to farm anymore.....

I have been playing this game by myself almost entirely so if someone can actually help me....you'll be fixing my soul :8bitheart:

Still in need?
Yeah, I think I will try again tomorrow night or on Saturday. Are you in for some Jo Jo Jolly cooperation?

I hear you my friend, beat them fairly recently and had my hands shaking by the end of the fight.

You can still do it with Solaire, in fact he can deal with Ornstein on his own while you distract Smough (try just distracting him to not waste HP).

Once only one is left, it's pretty easy to avoid getting hit by hiding behind pillars (still block though because their attacks go through) and do small hit&runs after they do an AOE attack from which they have to recover (whichever one is left).

Do you have any pyromancies? Helped me a great deal.

Also I'd follow Bladiumdragon's advice and equip Silver Knight armor for the fight, goes a long way to have extra protection from lightning in this fight, and with Havel's ring you can avoid fatrolling.

Good luck!
My pyromancies suck and I have tried killing each of them first, Usually the attack that completely destroys me its that Butt Jumping attack. Ornstein leaves me with very little health and usually does it again before I can heal and Smough kills me in one hit with that.

The closer I have ever been was fighting Ornstein last and he had 1/4 of health.

I spent ages stuck on O+S and spent so much humanity from summoning Solaire. Every time he'd knock out Ormstein, then we'd both get stomped by Super Smough.

Eventually, I got frustrated, and wanted to Homeward Bone my bloodstain out of there - so I didn't summon Solaire... and ended up killing both bosses that go.
Remember that summoning makes it harder in some ways, by increasing the bosses' health.
I did not knew that this increased the boss's health. One question. Im using a +5 Dark Knight Sword that deals almost 500 damage in my special hit but it takes way too much to do it. What parameter should I increase to improve my speed? This is the only thing that Ornstein has against me. Usually he can attack me before I can and my Spear from the Silver Knights does not make that much damage.

Don't summon Solaire. Use Favor and Protection and Havel's Ring. Use a fire buffed Zweihander if you're killing Ornstein first. I reccommend the Black Iron set or Havel's Set.
I am using a Havel set as well as the Havel ring and Favor and Protection. My issue is the sword that I have, I have played this with no guides to make it more "real" and I dont have any fire weapong and even though I have a ♥♥♥♥ ton of Fire Resin it makes no use with my Dark Knight Sword.

Solaire tanked Ornstein while I killed Smough with little-to-no effort.
Good for you. I spent a couple days trying to beat the pair with Solaire, then in a fit of rage went in unaccompanied and surprised myself by beating them.

Because of their reduced health.

This has actually been my best attempt so far. I did not knew that summoning help increases the life of the Boss. Also everytime that I summon Solaire instead of fighting smart he just runs around in the first part of the fight and tries to go Hand to Hand against Ornstein and takes way too much damage no matter how fast I destroy Smough. By the next part of the fight he either dies by the thunder buttslam of Ornstein or tries in vain to shoot lightnings and Ornstein seems to only be tickled by them.

Thank you very much for all your advice. I will try all the different Tactics you guys mentioned but I will still love to try to go a 3 v 2 or 2 v 2 against Ornstein and Smough. I think I need to fight with another player instead that with an AI. Solaire buffs the enemy health according to what you guys say and it is a price too high to pay for him to just die on the beggining of the second part and leaving me alone with a Double Healt Amped up Ornstein and Smough

Black Knight Sword +5 should demolish them on normal NG. It helped me beat them solo in NG++. Fire Resin is isn't always necessary for this boss. Just solo the boss. Use 20 Flasks if you have them and Estus Flask +7, or whatever Flask upgrade you have if you don't have any Firekeeper Souls. Rolling is key. Two hand the Black Knight Sword and just keep rolling. It can stagger both bosses in phase one.

Solaire can help well in this fight by turning it into a 1 vs 1 instead of a 2 vs 1. They are weak to fire. This is one of those fights where you just gotta git gud, there aren't really that many strategies except using the pillars to split them apart and using the pillars as a shield.

For the second phase if you are up against Ascended Ornstein get under him asap, here only a few attacks can actually hit you, and whilst most of his attacks are missing you can attack him.

For Ascended Smough, get in front of him and very close to him, there is a "safe zone" where he cannot hit you with his swings, watch out for his lightning slam.

I dont know the rite of Kindling so my bonfire its only 10 Estus.I am level 65 and I think I will continue grinding a little bit more to increase my health and Stamina, My strenght and endurance I believe are around 27 each.
Well that's actually easy to get, but you best take a silver knight divine spear. Basically, go back to Firelink Shrine, go by the graveyard, then travel down the staircase. I forgot the name of the area, but just travel downwards and eventually you'll meet Pinwheel. At your level, with my +10 claymore, I rekt him in three strikes.
have you considered not getting hit
I am sorry for you being stumped on this fight, and I hope you get them, but man calling them Pikachu and Snorlax is the best thing I have ever heard. Thank you.
But, if you need help, I recommend these things.

1. If it's your first time, kill Ornstein first. It makes the second phase more manageable.

2. Use the terrain to your advantage. Position yourself so that pilars are blocking Smough while you are trying to deal with Ornstein.

3. Never lock on during this fight. You want to be able to keep both of them on the screen at the same time.

4. I do not recommend summoning Solaire, because it buffs the bosses HP and attack strength and defense.

5. When you are in second phase with Smough, stick to him to bait him into the jump butt slam attack. When he jumps, run away like a crazy man and then run back in when the lightning clears.

Good luck! I spent a solid two hours on that boss my first time, but it's rewarding to overcome them!

He died too quickly and didn't do much damage on my playthrough. I summoned an actual player and Solaire to help me since I didn't know each phantom increases boss health by 50%.
Guess it varies from playthrough to playthrough.
I used him to tank Ornstein so that I could kill Smough but to my surprise he managed to KILL Ornstein while I was busy. This happened 3 times. On the fourth one I managed to kill Smough first and Solaire still had some HP left to help out with Super Ornstein

I DID IT !

I followed a combination of all of your advices.
Went solo 1v2 against Snorlax and Pikachu.

I used the Eagle Shield (Electric Defense)
Havel Armor (Poise and Physical Defense)
Black Knight Sword +4 (Damage and some attacks at two hands)
Two Rings that gave me Defense (One with a blue stone and the one that breaks when you take it off)
10 Estus+2

First I changed fighting styles, since my character is quite strong I was able to block every single attack and only the electric damage hit me but it was almost no damage, so I could block and block and block both of them at the same time and with every opportunity I attacked Pikachy (Ornstein) until I killed him

Then on the second part I was walking backwards with my shield up and then advance a little to provoke Smough and when he landed his single swing I switched to Two Handed Sword and made a swing at him. Continued like this for like 4 minutes and both went down with 4 Estus left.

Now its time to see the Best Chest in the game :D

Thank you all.....really. Dark Souls community its the most supportive one I have ever seen. Not a single troll comment or anything like that. Thank you all

Time to continue in my journey to Git Gud. :8bitheart:

I was honestly disapointed with the fight, when i first started to play dark souls i kept hearing about people getting rekt by O&S so i thought the fight would be hard as ♥♥♥♥ but once i got to them, it wasnt so bad. Sure they killed me a couple of times but that happened with every normal enemie also :P. Easiest way is to camp around the pillars and have S get stuck behind while you wail on O and dodge his attacks :pumpkinsam:
