How do i fight nito? [CLEARED]

so, i'm finally done with that annoying dark area but now i'm at the Gravelord Nito bossfight.
the problem here is that whenever i start the boss half of my health is gone due to the fall which is already 1 estus, and then he spams the scream ground attack and when i get close i get either:
-ganked by skeletons
-rekt by nito's big area attack
-get grabbed by nito

is there any strategy to nito or do i just need to git gut?

Do you want to kill him solo?

Don't aggro the skeletons. Stay in the initial area and try to position the normie skeletons between you and Nito. He doesn't care about them.
Hug Nito if you feel you get hit too much.

He can hit and kill the skeletons himself, if you didn't notice, so don't worry too much about them. Stack some poise if you don't want to get interrupted every hit. And obviously get the ♥♥♥♥ out of the way when you see him charge his aoe.

thanks for the tip, only a small amount of the skeletons spawn if you fight him in the beginning part of the area but then still i'll have to run for his charge up area attack which will probably trigger more skeletons, managed to get him to about 40% help this time

you can use your ocult club to back into divine club +5 and kill the small skeletons.

also, is a +10 claymore good enough for this area
and as gear : iron helm, black iron set +1 enough? since i'm not used to upgrading armor

You don't really need to upgrade armor at all in normal NG, but having a good upgraded weapon is a must; +10 claymore should be good enough, but it also depends on your stats.

divine weapons can kill the small skeletons. do that and you will be alone with nito.

anor londor have a occult club, go for andre of astoria (the blacksmith) and change it for divine +5.

put on my havel armor and just tried tanking through the skeletons while hitting nito

also, i'm currently SL75 and i feel like i should be higher level since i've already done nito now, the bed of(idk) and seath and i'm at four kings, should i be higher lvl or is this ok?
