How do I ring the first bell of awakening?

So I just beat the game but realized I never rung the first bell of awakening. I only rang the one after Quelaag and have no idea where the first one is even at. I've literally beaten Gwyn and restarted at the asylum, is the first bell in NG+ or something? Ty for any help.

It's after the gargoyles... how do you even progress in the game without ringing it though? I thought it was mandatory

You mean the ones in Anor Londo? I fought them though.

Maybe he glitched something or plain cheated, ringing both bells is mandatory

No they're an actual boss at the top of the undead parish. I guess you'll have a chance to see them now in NG+, but I'm really curious as to how you even managed to skip them, lol

Wtf didnt even know I had to fight them, never even went up there. I didnt cheat or anything tho.

The bells are mandatory, so it's likely you fought them. Otherwise, you'd have to use Sen's Gate skip, a rather tricky glitch.

Even on speedruns the gargoyles aren't skipable, they're some of the few bosses that you HAVE to kill to progress through the game, this is either a troll thread, you cheated or your game simply glitched out from the beginning.

There was a topic (and youtube vid) some months back of a skip into Sen's Fortress without opening the gate (aka not ringing bells). They can be skipped (don't expect it to happen by accident tho).

But then again, he could have skipped queelag, which he didn't

actually no, I've seen lobos do some weird glitch involving a parry and weird camera angle with the walkway leading the bonfire by Andre. He died, meaning I didn't get to see the full extent, so maybe there's something I'm missing?
