Used spoilers just in case, since I'm not sure if spoilers are allowed :P And I'm too lazy to check the rules :D
You can technically fight the Four Kings before even getting to Anor Londo by killing Ingward and getting the key to the Seal that way... you'd still need the Crest of Artorias though, to be able to walt in the Abyss.
EDIT: Oops. Forgot spoilers tags on the second part :P
That being said, the 'first play through' or "path of least resistance" route has been analysed and quite clearly distinguished over the years. I think IGN Walkthroughs has that route, and no doubt the list of areas is available ubiquitously. However, I recommend staying away from it. Play Dark Souls how you want - that's what keeps you interested in it.
TL;DR: There is no correct order to play the areas, only the one that works for you in terms of enjoyment and making progress in the game world. Have fun ;)
That's true. I guess i just want a certain order instead of learning it's all open and up to you. Game doesnt hold your hand
it's impossible to get everything on 1st try anyway
It took me 15 months to finally play he game again. Never uninstalled it. Now i hope to finish it this time...
The first time I beat Kalameet it probably took nearly that many tries. But I say sixty because I counted my attempts to defeat Kalameet on my Soul Level 1 run and it took between 58 and 61 tries until I succeeded. That was with nothing but a Bandit Axe though XD so I'm sure you'll get him down in fewer tries. The DLC also contains far more challenging enemies than the rest of the game. I've told my friends to do the game right up until facing the final boss before starting the DLC. Kalameet is no doubt the hardest boss in the game (in comparison, Ornstein and Smough are likely the hardest boss in proportion to gear and skill at the time of facing them).
Hey, I quit my first Dark Souls play through when I was stuck on the Undead Parish black knight and metal boar ;) It took me 300 hours of Skyrim before getting back to it, not having uninstalled Dark Souls for I dunno O.o about a year as well I think. You're doing better than me :D:D
lol GL, HF!
I never fought Kalameet until 3rd playthrough cause I didn't know about DLC...happens when you're a blind-playin casul, I started to look up things cause I wondered about weapons/spells I saw @pvp...Oolacile didn't feel too hard by then
After Seath i'm going to go to ghost place then cemetary, then i want to go to the hallow tree, lake, then ill go to lava place (never got to this part in my forst playthrough so itll all be new).
Hope this is a good order
Just a guess on the reason for the bolded part: it's probably because Gardens is/was a PvP hotspot (if you go too deep in it at least) and it's probably better to get there when you have a weapon upgraded past +5 (so you're not *that* outmatched for the invasions that happens in there.)
And going to blighttown first guarantees that you'll get the Ember for getting a better upgraded weapon by the point you reach the Gardens proper (where you had a great chance of getting invaded if you play online and as human there.)
