dex/int build??

just wondering what is the optimal stat spread for a dex int build on a new game. also what weapons should i be using, going the enchanted route,magic route, etc thanks

For pve or pvp?

It entirely depends on what you want to do.

Do you just want "good enough buffing" and max purusers/hcsm, or do you want to be slinging around crystal soul spear?

How many pyromancies do you want to be throwing out, do you want to use pyros to start?

Do you want to use just light weapons or scythes.

Do you want enough dex just for max melee dmg or do you want to full speed boost of 45.

That's a better approach to the topic. Good. But don't just assume automatically that "...build" means "pvp"

i just want like a general pve build that i can use im not really tryna pvp. i wanna get my dex to 40 and my int to 40 as well. as for weapons i really dont know what route i should be going

Early on/minimized variant :
- Slap on a Silver Knight Straight Sword, rank up your Intelligence to 25, use the Oolacile catalyst (available from very early on), use Crystal Magic Weapon to buff yourself.

Later on :
- Pick any weapon you like with a reasonable (or unreasonably fast) attack speed. Slap on Crystal Magic Weapon still, but with a higher Int and different catalyst.

Magic/Enchanted weapons work only with high Int and certain types of weapons, but you can have one as your backup.

When in need of damage/poise damage remember the good ole Flamberge / Gargoyle Tail Axe.
When you want to really take things down quickly, a faster weapon on Crystal Magic Weapon will do the trick better. You get three casts, after all.

40 is generale the cut off pepople use if they want to use moonlight without carrying about crystal soul spear which is 44.Max numbr for the homming spells is around 32 and standard soul spear is 36 if I rember correctly.

Also keep in mind that str/dex add dmg to dark spells depending on what cat you use (really only the demons and tin cat for dex all the other either go off str or nothing, and I can only confirm the tin actualy works I have never bothered with the demons thought I will test it as well soon)

Pvp puts an emphasis on getting more hp but if you plan on using melee effectively even pve wise you will need some stamina over the base for many weapons (also small tip spells dont cost stamina in dks 1).

If you have no desire to pvp just cut your planed health for more stats, I would suggest you pump up the dex and int 45/50 since that will give you the most bang for your buck with spells for pve and it allow you to chain them into melee easier (max scaling int,max dex melee dmg, max cast speed).Trying to reach a faith of 30 or so is another option particularly if you plan on having 40 int + 40 dex thought it will be hard to fit that into a 125 sl build if you want more then the starting health/stamina.

16 strength will give you the vast majority of dex weapons(and many other goodies) other then some oddities like the marukumo, It will also let you to two hand many of the greatswords till you level up more and are effective with dex weapons.But if you want to optimize towards particular weapons heres a good list to go thru : http://darksouls.wikidot.com/strength

Oh also pepople in gen cap out at sl125 (mainly for pvp) so its hard to coop either past that point.
