How good is the Ring of Favor and Protection
Or a better question, when is the right time to put it on?

Put it in the inner ring slot so you can easily switch the out ring quickly mid combt.Beyond that its the best ring in the game but you give up being able to wear two rings of other kinds.

Usualy this "problem" can be avoided by ring swaping such as swaping in the lingering ring to buff and swaping it out with the bellowing/colthanary when your not.

But it obvious precludes you from doing things like wearing the hornet and wolf ring or havels and the stamina one.

Honestly it's just so incredibly good that there's almost no way of it being a bad ring to pick.

STAMINA
HEALTH
ENDURANCE
EVERYTHING YOU COULD EVER WANT!

It's basically, from my experience, the best ring in the game and you can't go wrong using it at any point.

Adds Steamia, Health, Endurance and just overall gives way too many benefits to be considered anything other than top tier equipment.

It adds 20% Health, Stamina and Equip load. Any time is the best time to put it on, the best time to take it off is never.

IDK why all these scrubs praise this ring so much. All it does is gives you a bit of breathing room while EXTREMELY limiting your flexibility. Unless you are using a specific build that STRICTLY NEEDS that extra stamina or find yourself in situations where you BARELY make it out of fights with less than 20% HP regularly, don't use it.

While 20% seems like a lot, unless you have 9000 health to begin with, it won't even let you to take one more hit from most bosses before death. First three firekeeper souls (parish, new londo, blighttown) already take your flask to +600 HP per chug which is half your HP bar unless you have 35+ vit. Ring will give you +250 HP at 35 Vit, less than half a chug breathing room, it WON'T save you if you ♥♥♥♥ up while not letting you wear covenant+something. Try steel protection ring + bonfire upgrading - it's more efficient until you hit sl 100 or so.

FAP ring is a crutch, get used to playing without it. You'll be happier.

Sort of true, but not entirely. In many instances, it actually is the best ring to wear--an extra 20% health at high Vitality is no joke, nor is the extra 20% stamina/equip load at high endurance. The thing is, it's only a crutch at low levels where the ring is NEEDED to pull off weapon/armor combos that would otherwise cause one to medium roll, for example. At higher levels, where it isn't actually necessary for a build to work, it's still probably the best ring to use in any given instance, as the benefits increase proportionally to the stats being boosted.

Basically, put it on if you think you need extra health/stamina/equip load, as long as you're prepared to potentially break it. If you don't need those things, save it for a while.

It's widely accepted as the best ring in the game for obvious reasons, so yes.

Well, I didn't say it was useless.

Hurr durr. What logic is this? Then all the family masks are just crutch because they let you minmax your build... Dont use DWGR, it's just a crutch. Havel ring too. Also any ring apart from Kalameet ring. Hey maan. Don't use magic of any sort, it's just a crutch. Also black knight weapon early game that everyone seems to whine about. It s just crutch. Don't use armor, it s just a crutch, "it ruins your flexibility"(as someone else mentioned before). Don t use wolf ring, it s just a crutch to paper armor players. U have poise? Sorry man, it s just a crutch. Everyone should just let themselves get poked to oblivion by a rapier. Oh...u mean one could toggle escape? Crutch, mate...
Oh maaan. U actually use weapons? It just a crutch. Every honorable, worthy dark souls player just beats the other player to submission with his/her bare hands. lol
Almost everyone seems to use FAP and Mother mask to max health, but it s just a crutch. You shouldn t even level vitality. It s just a crutch for cases when u get hit.
ACKCHYUALLY I came to the conclusion that this game, Dark Souls... is just a CRUTCH.
