Popular PvP areas and Soul Level Ranges??
Haven't played DS1 is years, used to be a big player back on Xbox 360 though. I still remember my way around but I'm just wondering how big the old pvp spots are still: Forest, Oolacile, Parish, etc etc. I'm level 40 right now, and found my first bit of pvp in the forest against some blue phantoms.

Darkroot Garden (The area with the Forest Hunters, behind the Crest gate)
Oolacile Township (Just after bonfire after killing Artorias)

Those are the most popular locations for PvP. Other than that, occasionally you'll get invaded while progressing through the game as a human.

Joining the Gank Covenant (Forest Hunters) yields a lot of PvP but everyone will hate you
Darkwraiths are known to go to that forest as well
Blade of the Darkmoon would work the same as Darkwraiths, and if you ask me is more fun because you can seek out sinners

Sweet, so the old spots are alive and well, then!
I'm not much of a ganker, throughout the souls games I've always preferred the Blades path to PvP. Is there still a meta? i remember it being around SL120 - 125

Aye, 120 // 125 should be alright.

120 is more meta I believe, though 5 levels really doesn't make much of a difference in PvP.

now can anyone attest to how strict that meta is? i know i found a few people in the forest at level 40, so i can only assume that theyre a few scattered players between 40 and 125.

but what about higher? hmmm.. mmm.. "multiple characters ahead"

You know, some people still experience PVP and Co-op (which logically enables invasions) before they actually finished the game / preparing their build.

Every once in a while a person does pop up that is vastly overleveled (157, 190+, low 200s off the top of my head) and asks about PVPing.

Frequently a person tries a low-level build to be able to invade other low-level people, too.

I'd say as long as you can challenge people within the 120-125 meta range with your preferred methods or better yet, all methods (invasion/challenge/getting invaded) you're very much fine.

I.E. my build presumes I'll stop leveling up in the 124-129 range (and isn't heavily stat-optimized), but I certainly am not going to be crying about passing the main meta levels.

well that's good to know ^-^ I'm glad theres still a few high levels floating around. Since this is my first jump back into Ds1 is a loooong time, ill probably level this current character till i just feel like stopping. Perhaps then I'll strive to make a character around/below the popular level range. As I said, I'm SL40 now, feel free to add me if you're close or in range and want to duel or whatnot!

I'm way out of range for typical, I'm SL90, moving towards the meta SL of 120/125
Though if you had sin and/or someone puts an indictment on you for invading and killing them, I would probably be able to invade you since I'm a Blade of the Darkmoon, though that's sort of an unfair advantage

Ahem, uh, so I was playing yesterday, maybe even the day before, and noticed that the number of players who have meta PVP builds seem to be significantly fewer than those under SL 90. I had been invaded persistently for an hour or two by nothing but new players. And Vicadin777. He's always a pleasure to be frank. But uh, yeah, check DSCM-net at any given time, and click on the SL column to sort all the players on there. You'll see exactly how many players actually follow the meta AND pvp
