Dragonslayer Spear vs. Lightning Spear?

So I picked up a lightning spear from a mimic in Sen's Fortress, and now I've beaten what's-his-face that dropped the soul that lets me make the dragonslayer spear. Now as far as I can tell...

Lightning Spear has higher damage
Lightning Spear uses cheaper materials to upgrade, and comes pre-ascended
Lightning Spear has lower usage requirements

Am I missing something? Or is one of the boss weapons actually far inferior to a drop from the previous level?

Ornstein's Spear +5 is better when you have high dex and str stats, since it does scale, the lighting spear +5 doesn't , so its damage can't change

And Ornstein's spear scales with Faith ( only increase the lightning damage)

Wait... but then how much str / dex do you need for the Dragonslayer Spear to surpass the Lightning Spear's damage output?

and ornstein's spear got the best stamina drain from a kick compare to any weapon, its a shield destroyer =) and it looks awesome, and R2 moveset, and dragonslayer approved !

When you kick someone defending with the spear or when you're using the spear?

i saw that on some old science vids about orn's spear .. pretty interesting imo, that weapon is very good for a spear , i mean, if you're not too mtuch try hard and more on fashion, it really worth it with good stat investment and some skill

it depends the lightning spear is better for people who do not want to scale stats high but the dragonslayer spear is great for faith users being as it is the only weapon in dark souls that has scaling lightning dmg
