Tips for a good PVP and PVE Ornstein build?

I want to try spicing up my playthrough and I figured the best way to do that was dress up and fight like my favorite boss. I already have the stats for his spear but my endurance is a little low so im abusing RoFP and Havel's ring to be able to roll. I would just love some tips for both playstyles.

PvP opinion:
Orstein cosplay is too challenging... so people rarely try to do it...

I assume wolf ring ruins the build idea.... so we gonna work with 45 poise...(easy to stagger)
and weapon that deals split relatively low damage....

So how we will win?
By using a simple plan -
1. Annoy them from distance
2.Once someone is coming closer - run for lock backstab...
3. go to 1.

yeah i did it once and it's really fun, also because they're not really powerful builds, so it isn't even all that hard for a medium skilled invader to stand a chance and enjoy a fun gank once in a while

Kick and R1 spam from distance to guard break your enemies (Dragonslayer Spear is the best for this). If you see your opponent going for a roll bs with DWGR you can bait them to catch their rolls with a backstab.

its fun to switch gear and be an arty in few second, on same build.
Vitality is low (40) but you can raise it by lowering some dex (its not very good for Orstein spear damage, but it can be good if you need 50 vita)

i do play this build a lot, its not a min max build, but its very fun to cosplay arty & orstein.
with some skill its not a difficult build to handle, poise is weak, but switch havel ring to wolf ring if you want poise (mid roll, very bad idea imo)

Thanks for the video.. that might actually help me a lot in just pve as well. I know its not reccomended but im doing a DWGR was havel's later. so I plan on ninja rolling people to death. I was also thinking about using the caestus for parrying since apperently that was in O's original build.

I would love to have a smough. But I only know people who do almost strictly dex or mag builds. Maybe if I join the darkmoon it will put 2 of us together?

Thanks for the tip. I was going with that thought myself when I got jumped in darkroot. I died but I almpst killed the invader as well.. Do you know if the 2H heavy is any good for invaders or PVP in general?

Thanks for the builds, ill keep it in mind when I go through the abyss. I was thinking about going for an Arty cosplay as well just because of how fast my character is going to be since I focused on dex and end.

R2s in this game aren't good in general, and with this weapon they aren't an exception. They are cool to throw out some gimmick, though.

r2 aren't that good? maybe this goes for some str wpn, but the 2h r2 of the claymore, for example, is one of the best attack you can count on when it comes to catch a bs attempt and in general, ♥♥♥♥ up parry timing or toggle escapes, but I have many other examples (balder swag sword, great scythe 2h, flamberge if you know how to use it and so on) you just have to pay attention cause they're usually slower and if you misjudge the distances or try to spam them, you get easily bs'ed, but this is true with almost everything.

I find that the Laito has a good r2 if you can combo with it. I got invaded and murdered with it.
