Hasn't stopped me from going on a 6 killstreak. Say what you will, it's still a decent weapon.
Yeah... are you in the forest? Hosting? How many souls per invader?
What does any of that matter? I was in Anor Londo grave lording, got invaded six times back to back by Blue's and reds. I used the catch pole and dark sorcery in tandem and it caught a lot of people off guard. And this was before my build even hit its stride, around SL 60.
Or maybe I'm just good with the Catch pole. Who knows, it's all subjective.
So it's just a testament to my own skill. What's the problem here lol. When did you have to use a 100% fool proof weapon to have fun in PVP.
The titanite catchpole is a bad weapon. It can be useful at the beginning (like the drakesword) but it gets outclassed so bad by other halberd-type weapons that I don't really see the point of using it (except memes). It has stupidly bad R2s, split damage and bad scaling (even with a dex/int or pure int build, an enchanted halberd or gargoyle's halberd are better options since both do more damage).
I don't really care whether you have fun or not with it. It's a bad weapon, it's not effective, it's a pain in the ass to get and (this is an opinion) it's ugly af.
Because I thought I heard someone talk bad about mah catchpole
here is the contadiction: no offense, but if a good and experienced pvp-player tells u a weapon is bad for *competetive* pvp you might respect that as kinda objective.
You can still go ahead and say - "it's good enough and I like it and use it cause it looks cool and I feel more unique" "more unique" - lol, sorry
You might blame a vet for being obsessed with "competition value" of a weapon but then u shouldn't bring up kill-streaks maybe...
How dare you? I demand you go out there, get the most meta weapon you can, fish for backstabs and send a person hatemail if you don't defeat them without HP loss!
