How to Properly Play a Heavy Armor Build ?
TL;DR: For playing heavy build. how do you level up stats (order included please) and behavies against PvE enemies and bosses ? It's seems impossible and the game requires you to wear light armor 90% of the time

Hi everyone o/

I'm wondering how people can play this game 100% Knight/Elite Knight armor set or any other heavy equipment (swords and shield also)

I know that at some point into the game you can get rings that increases your equipment load to wear it without a big penalty, but that's kinda... little bit later in the game.

It's MUCH moar easier to unequip all the armor and dodge bosses rather than fat roll or block unblockable atacks (Smough and Ornstein, I'm looking at you ¬¬)

Invest a lot in VIT and END (more than 40 for this one) and wear Ring of FnP and Havel's ring. Look for fast rolling or mid-rolling at worst. Consider what armour you need for situations when you want or have to discard Havel's ring.

Elite knight is one of the lighter sets as far as those interested in having decent poise scores are concerned, though.
Also, Havel's Ring can be obtained before the Gargoyles fight, and it's the one you'll likely wear through most of the game anyway. It's not that hard. Also, with sufficient Endurance scores you can easily mid-roll early on even on a heavy-ish build, even without Havel's.

How to do it correctly?
- Heaviest strength weapons aren't neccessarily the best. Large club, great club, man-serpent greatsword, black knight sword/greataxe/halberd, these are all VERY good PVE weapons. Early on a lot of other weapons also do well.
- Of course you can opt for something else entirely on the 'weapon' front. Can be a spear or halberd or somesuch.
- Unblockable attacks? How many of those are in the game according to you?
- Frankly, Giant's or Black Iron Armor + a good Greatshield is one of the easiest ways to beat the game. You don't even need to roll. All you need is spacing.

Thanks for the reponses :)

ChiefBromden: I got your point

MaenaZ: Loved the details :)

"Havel's Ring can be obtained before the Gargoyles fight" Yup
"and it's the one you'll likely wear through most of the game anyway" ... That's sucks :D !

"Early on a lot of other weapons also do well" Yeah, even without upgrading you can do stuffs, takes longer, but it's not entire required. (but makes life a hell of easier, and without spending many points into STR/DEX)

"- Unblockable attacks? How many of those are in the game according to you?" For the beginning, try to block: 2nd Stray Demon, Havel's, Hydra, Some Heavy weapon Black-knights, Taurus, Capra, Prowling Demon's, SMOUGH !, Also. Try to past the Two Archers at Anor London without rolling or fat rolling

Of course you can read the movement, since it's takes a time to charge it, but still it's not 100% blockable for the beggning of the game (at anor london you can do anything you want anyway at this point in the game).

Most of the time I go with 20 END, for sorcery 10 and I was ok for most part of the game, I know that with enought stamina and good stability shield you can tank it flawless, and Chorant ring makes Stamina regen fast enought.

But I don't know, Imo fat builds seems soo hard, I should give a try hard run with one.

Seems like I need to get gud with this build pretty much.

Thanks guys for the opinions
