(since Dark Magic scales to both the magic adjust of the catalyst and its strength scaling, dark magic cast with the Manus catalyst at high int and strength is more powerful than if it were cast with the TCC)
Your MagAdjust is calculated based off of the spell tool's base MagAdjust with additional MagAdjust based on any scaling the spell tool has.
Each spell's power depends on a multiplication of the MagAdjust. Soul Arrow deals 0.9 * MagAdjust, which means that if your MagAdjust is 100, you deal 90 Magic Damage.
Heal will heal the player for 3 * MagAdjust on their Talisman. Great Heal is 8 * MagAdjust
Some spells don't rely on MagAdjust at all, though, usually spells that perform a strict function (like negating fall damage or making your steps silent or curing poison/toxic/pleed)
