Knight Lautrec

So I got the black eye orb from the firekeeper at Firelink, used it in the hallway and then managed to kill the spellcaster minion Lautrec has. However, just at the worst moment I got a very important call and had to just let them kill me since I needed to answer the phone.

I tought I could just try again after, but then the orb dissappeared and I got teleported to the bonfire where Solaire is. The orb dissappeared from my inventory and I got the firekeeper soul + the ring. I'm 100% sure I didn't kill Lautrec and yet, the orb is nowhere to be found. Is there a way to aquire a new one or can I cheat and give myself a new orb via cheat engine for example? I wouldn't be asking this if I died to Lautrec in a fair fight since that's how it would have meant to be but since I died because I had no choise, I'd like the opportunity to try again.

Yeah, I read up on this after I lost the orb and it seems that the game is probably bugged. As I said, well... Maybe I'm not 100% sure I didn't kill Lautrec since I did parry&riposte him just before I died, but I didn't think that it killed him since he only took like 70 something damage.

If there is Lautrec's corpse on the upper level of hall where O&S fight then (I think) there is no chance for you in this playthrough

Where should I look for the body exactly?

Upper level of O&S fight, to the left if you look from the gate to Princess, all the way back.

Didn't find it, at least not yet but I think I was through.

Well, it seems like it is the same kind of bug as with Paladin Leeroy (whose items I missed)

But since I got the ring and the firekeepers soul I can still revive the firekeeper at Firelink? Or does the soul required to revive her look different to the regular one's somehow? If it's just the set I missed tho, I'm not that mad since I'm going lightweight build anyway.

Also, can I still get Lautrec's set in NG+?

I suppose it's this soul, but I can't confirm since I threw every single soul into estus until it reached +7

I'm pretty sure the game says u killed Lautrec - r u sure the armor isn't there?
When u invade Lautrec you're a spirit - he can't "kill" you, just defeat but u can always invade again till u succeed

I know that you're SUPPOSED to be able to invade again if you were not succesfull the first time in killing Lautrec, but the body is nowhere to be found and the orb dissappeared from my inventory. Also, as I said I'm fairly certain that Lautrec didn't die since he only took around 70'ish damage when I used riposte.

+ I got the ring and a firekeeper soul from the fight even when I lost to him. The only one of the bunch I'm 10000% sure that died is the minion spellcaster Lautric has beside him in the fight.

If you have the ring and the firekeeper soul, the game likely bugged out into thinking you won and thus removed the orb from your inventory. Heck, perhaps you did win through Lautrec killing himself or your parry actually finishing him off. In that case, it'd be the lack of Set of Favor that's the bug. Note that you can only get the set after defeating Ornstein and Smough.

Ok so the last part is news to me. I have yet to kill O&S.

Does Lautrec take fall damage? If he does it might have actually killed him when I used riposte since he did fall a couple of times from the upper level of the hallway while he and his minions were chasing me.

did you visit firelink with the soul?
did you already defeat Anor Londo bosses?

as for opportunity to invade Lautrec only thing if u have dsfix and enabled older savegames

or just do it on ng+ since it won't be the only thing u miss ;-)

EDIT- yea, no bosses yet, that armor comes later...I guess u killed him which counts even if u get killed too (target destroyed - the game handles draws in favor of invader anyway)

Yeah, as I said I've yet to kill any bosses in Anor Londo. I'll probably just end up killing Lautrec in NG+ for the armor if the corpse doesn't appear after O&S fight.
