Change Character's Name?

Basically is there a legit way to change a player character's name without negative consequences? Thank you in advance!

Uhm, your Steam name is shown if you connect to other players in Dark Souls 1.
So I guess, you would have to change your steam name.

No legit way to do that, I think.

No way to change your name.

I'm still mentally amused, however, that someone will see a summon sign with "Space Wizard Zach" and get confused when they summon a cleric.

Simply use Cheat Engine. There won't be any consequences.
