how long is this game?
I've gotten burned by a few indie games that turned out to be just 2-3 hours long, so I want to know before buying this one: how long does it take to play through this game on normal difficulty, assuming your skills are about average?

Wait...The link claims it takes less time to compltete the game when you do the main storyline and "extras" than it does to just do the main storyline...Huh?

It seems very short and not worth the price tag. I'll skip this one.

I managed to 100% the game on XBLA in about 3 hours. The game is pretty poor as it is but for the length it's definitely not worth the asking price.

Damn, I can't justify that time to price ratio. What a shame.

turned me off buying the game as well :) Greedy people...

Not that expensive since it costs as much as 2 pints in the pub and gave me an awesome evening... short on time but great fun!

What horrible pub would charge 5 euros for a pint? That's robbery.

it is short, for my first playthrough it took me 4hours but the setting is nice enough...so i dont regret it...the diary ingame is a nice feature though...reminded me of the books "day by day armageddon" ;)

Where I live, a meal and an extra at McDonald's is roughly 11$. So paying 13$ for 3-5 hours of good entertainment (because I like zombie games, and Deadlight does it right) is a good value. I could have kept it, and went to McDonald's... but that would satisfy me for about 30 minutes.

Who's greedy? You? 13$ for 3-5 hours of entertainment is pretty good. A 3D movie is about the same price for half that time... and the movie's gonna suck.

Bah, If this game were a lil longer I'd probably get it but yea I'll just wait for it to go on sale.

I have no idea what your "extra" is but thats pretty close to the cost of 2 meals at good old McDonald's here in America and if its only lasting your 30 mins you need to just go eat somewhere else.

It's all about what someone is willing to spend per hour of gameplay. A lot of people try to minimize their dollars per hour of gaming and some even use it as a measure of if a game is worth its asking price. In this case 3 to 5 bucks an hour is just too much for an impulse buy.

Not just per hour of gameplay but how much enjoyment is spent in that time also. Surely? Or do you rate a game solely on how long it takes you to complete it?

4hours of Deadlight to me is worth more than the less than 7 i got out of Sniper V2. Infact i have played more of Deadlight now than i did SV2. (check my stats) SV2 was more expensive AND i enjoyed my time with it less. Deadlight is clearly better value for money in this case.

OP. I have spent 7 hours in this game so far. Not quite completed but i have collected everything thus far. I also intend to play it through again just to admire the visuals again.

Plus you could easily spend an hour reading the diary, looking through the hidden collectables, look through the interesting artwork and watch a complete set of making of videos.

I think this game is great value for money.

5.5 hours of gameplay is what I logged doing the game once. Nightmare mode will probably add another 4 or so hours to this. I got my twelve dollars worth.
