[SPOILERS] I got 2 questions regarding lore.
1.- Is there any reason besides "plot armor" that our main characters never die by what I assume are the psychic demons (Like Holiday)? I could accept that Pointman never did because he was under Alma's protection or smth, but what about Sarge? he went through similar stuff as Pointman.
2.- Why didn't Paxton or Alma try to stop Sarge from taking the DNA? I would guess that Paxton didn't have enough clones due to the nightcrawlers, but Alma had lots of opportunities to kill him, just like she did with the nightcrawler soldiers at one point.

Ok so the psychic demon/spirit things I'm not sure about. Yes in a way if they can grab holiday and toss him all over the place they should be able to do the same to these guys. We see them rushing them and trying to kill them, but never just straight up grabbing them and tossing them around. I would think that possibly cause alma kills who she wants, and probably was either, entertained by the protagonists so went easy on them, or they had some kinda block but that doesn't really make sense cause I see TK as not psychic but manipulation of the environment which you would think they wouldn't have a defense against. So the only real explanation is alma was letting them win. Alma isn't on paxtons side, or anyone else she is alma. If anything she seemed to be more on PM's side (you're safe now). Think about it, in the first game alma had many opportunities to kill her sister Alice. She was in the elevator with her. But she left her alone, she didn't even make her aware of her. Later Alice acts like nothing was even in the elevator with her.

When paxton kills alice alma is standing over him watching, not directing it but looking at paxton possibly with disapproval. Since alma never tried to kill alice and alma might of been disappointed in her son, or who knows.

The point I'm making is alma kills who she wants, in PM alma skips around killing nightcrawlers and showing off to sarge, she probably was interested in how far sarge would go, and might of wondered if he could actually defeat the nightcrawlers as she didn't seem to like them at all.

As for not stopping sarge, alma may of wanted him to get the dna instead, paxton on the otherhand was messing with sarge nonstop but by the end the replicas were put down or busy at the same time with PM in EP, so paxton couldn't stop sarge, and alma probably didn't want to or hated the nightcrawlers more.

This is all just my interpretation of the events, there is no real explanation though only what we can speculate.

One other thought, what happened to alma from her family was a terrible tragedy, an atrocity towards a little girl that should never of happened. Alma might of also felt burned by that corporation and wanted exposure. She may of wanted justice and acknowledgment. She may be aware that if they got her dna, news of armachans atrocities might of had a possibility of being known. Meaning judgment and justice against the people who did it. When you think about it on those terms, why wouldn't alma want the evidence in anyone elses hands but armachan? They were basically trying to cover up her fathers atrocities while the fear team was trying to expose it and control the situation.
