^ i get this weird message after exiting the metro and after the load screen i get kicked to menu screen... so... what i do now?

Reloading previous save worked for me once, but I've stuck with the same problem a few levels after

1. Turn graphics & performance settings to the "minimum".
2. Restart the game.
3. Load the last save, finish the level.
4. Save on next level.
5. Return your settings back to normal.
6. Restart the game.
7. Enjoy the game until this bug happens again.

Thank you very much! This solution completely worked for me. In my case this bug happened in the transition between Interval 6 "Labirynth" and Interval 7.

What helped me today and on Extraction Point is turning off compatibility mode of the .exe if you turned it on to get the game running.
Maybe of some help to a few people here. Credits to the poster over at the Extraction Point forum.

I was streaming it yesterday when it did this. So I bashed the game on live stream since it's failuer was live, and quit the stream and moved on to another game. I do not recall having this issue in 7. But for now, I am having issues with streaming in 7, so I need to see if I can get resolved. But first I want to replay this in 7 to be sure it is worth a re-stream.
Do not understand why it is so complicated to get it to work right, F.E.A.R. itself works right, Extraction Point worked. Only did it once, had to take steam in offline mode for it to work.

I don't know how dependent this is on specific hardware but I changed ONLY texture resolution from Maximum to Medium and didn't have this issue after that. The downgrade visually is pretty modest and well worth not having to potentially change settings around every checkpoint.

This solution worked for me. First I lowered all settings to minimum as suggested above. Didn't work at first. Then I tried to turn off the SteamVR and the Steam overlay. After that chapter 7 loaded! After that I saved and put the settings back to maximum. I can finally continue.

go to graphic setting put texture resolution to medium problem solve you dont need nothing more

For those who are still not sure:create a save a few before entering the area where it crashes into main menu,reload the game,load this save,profit.

For most of you, you never have to do anything. Just try try try again. Three, 3, tries are the charm. This game is built with redundancy and built with contingency for problems like this, because gaming software programming language will get old, just like we do, the same with our English language. That's how good games like this are, back then.....perfecting the games so that the games will be enjoyed by the future generations, not crash and forget, you know.

Don't stress about it. The software will align itself gradually, either it's sheet 11 or ok windows 10. It's the windows update you need to worry about. Keep it straight.
