So, I'ts not possible to divorce / change your partner after Chapter 1 and keep playing (you can still load your save). I recommend making a extra save a few days before Chapter 2, so you can "go back in time" and marry other npcs without waiting for chapter 1 to end.
I saw a video on YouTube of somebody divorcing in Chapter 3 on the remake. But the game will end if you divorce with your spouse just like the older AWL games.
I believe that was in the old version but has been removed from this?

Skip to 20:23 to see one example of the divorce scene from the remake. Each spouse have their own divorce scene that you could see from YouTube if you look up their Chapter 3 Child Events.
Nice find! I love how they actually remembered a lot of small details from the original game in the remake
