Divorce?

Can you get divorced in this, if so.. how?

In the original game it was possible (by decreasing your friendship with the married NPC to 0), but if you choose to do so, Takakura just asks if you are not happy with life in the farm, then the game ends (sort of a "secret ending"). So, I'ts not possible to divorce / change your partner after Chapter 1 and keep playing (you can still load your save). I recommend making a extra save a few days before Chapter 2, so you can "go back in time" and marry other npcs without waiting for chapter 1 to end.

Yes it's possible to divorce in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life if you have low friendship with your spouse and not making any money on the farm. Then at the start of chapter 3, your spouse will explain they worried about the farm and if you repeatedly confirm about you really don't care about the farm anymore, your spouse will divorce you and leave with your kid.

I saw a video on YouTube of somebody divorcing in Chapter 3 on the remake. But the game will end if you divorce with your spouse just like the older AWL games.

Yeah I am surprised they still kept the divorce scenes. The only scenes I am aware that they removed from the remake will be the betrayal scenes such as this when you seen all of the heart events from one of the bachelorettes but then proposed to somebody else:

The game will end after the divorce. You can't continue the game divorcing. If you want to marry somebody else then you have to start a new game.
