Cows do not need to breed in order to give milk anymore?

So, in te original HM: AWL, you needed to breed a cow in order to make her starting giving milk. I noticed the time to breed was shortened, as the time for calves to grow up.
However, I bought a brown cow and she already started to give milk. Don't know if due I bought her on the legdge, but I suppose the same would happen with female calves: no need to breed in order to give milk?

They only give two during summer and winter. They will give three during Spring and Fall. o get four, you need breeding.

What an odd decision by Marvelous. This game was special because it had the guts to be gritty and realistic. Not overbearingly so, but just enough that you grew to appreciate how precious the circle of life is, how important it is to be responsible with your animals, the importance of planning ahead so you don’t get stuck without medicine when your animals need it…

I sometimes feel like the Story of Seasons series has become a zombie - it appears to be alive, but there’s no soul behind those eyes.

Still, I’m optimistic that Marvelous will get it right when they get to remaking Tree of Tranquility and Animal Parade… hopefully…

Pregnant cows don't give milk while pregnant, which lasts 20 days ( 2 seasons ) and then give higher quality milk for 20 more days after. It's really not worth it, I have super happy cows and get Star-grade milk on the regular and I just buy new animals. Same with chickens and eggs, most of the time i got males which are useless so I just sold them all and bought more females.

I believe you still need to breed if you want Star+ milk from cows. Otherwise, they just give gold.

you can make this remake authentic to the original by only milking your cows after they've given birth, otherwise i dont see the why anyone would complain about more money

I like the remake, but I have to agree with you. I miss having to breed the cows to get milk.

I like the remake, but I have to agree with you. I miss having to breed the cows to get milk.

i mean its more in line with back to nature and the other older ones the not needing to breed to get milk (and the newer installments in the sos series)

That's true, but the point here is that was intended. AWL was supposed to be darker, grittier, etc.

The original soul and vision of the director was lost in this remake. Not necessarily saying it's a bad thing, but it is a bit disappointing for old fans.

Odd take. I generally prefer if the game has the mechanics instead of me inventing the mechanics. Unless I'm going for a challenge run?

And dunno, it's nice to have more steps to make money I guess? Else I'd just cheat engine infinite money
