But heck yes, Animal Parade was amazing. Bring it on.
There's so many great games in the series that I would love to see ported with updated gameplay!
And HM64 is definitely my top choice; It was such a special entry and I miss it dearly. Things like the Karen's family events you mentioned have stayed with me too this day, they just left an impact other games didn't.
Save the Homeland, Tree of Tranquility, Magical Melody, and Animal Parade are all good choices. I also really liked Innocent Life (PS2) - I think because it was a bit different from the other titles.
I liked the SNES version, but I didn't play enough of the 64 version to form an opinion; the way the camera moved around made me feel funny haha.
