I've made the most money from digging at the dig site and fishing so far. You can sometimes find some golden spoons from the dig site and those are worth 1000g, while for fish, they're worth a decent amount and you can easily catch a bunch.

You, of course, can't ship those things and have to instead either sell all these things to Van or set up your own shop and sell those things to the villagers yourself.

Money income also snowballs really fast, the more you invest the more you make, if you befriend takakura to get vinnie as soon as possible in year 2 you'll be rolling in money extremely quickly, hybrid crops sell for a lot, especially if you fertilize them
