Chicken is not laying eggs

As the title says. She's healthy, has food, I let her grazing outside... only had an egg on the day she got at the farm. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Make sure shes inside during rain. but if shes outside it take a little bit for her to lay sometimes check every so often

I had that issue for two days in a row. I placed bird feed inside the coop and they are making eggs again. For some reason the animals are not consistently eating when outside? My cow also has a similiar issue where they will not eat in the afternoon and it was causing myself some hassle as I would check on them in the barn when I brought them back in and the cow would be upset there was no food?? They were outside the whole day ._.

Can they eat outside actually? I know in the OG game they did but there's less tall grass outside in the remake, maybe you need that? Maybe you already thought of that, idk, I'm only a few days in on this new version.

You need to fertilize the field to get tall grass started. Buy 20 fertilizer then fertilize random squares throughout for the best performance

I just found out what happened! My chicken had food, was happy, but I always go see it right after waking up.. and by the time it didn't had lay an egg just yet. On a rainy day I entered the coop and the egg was there. Lol. On other HM/SoS games the eggs would always be there at 6AM, not in this game apparently.
