for reference I had 2 sheeps m/f 2 chickens m/f and 1 cow before summer and it triggered on the 1st for me hope it helps

is there a particular number of shipments via Takakura as a parameter? or did you guys ship produce?

Shipped produce, had only a single chicken and the starter cow, received the horse on Summer 1

Okay, I tried shipping any produce in summer, and I finally got the horse...!
So it apparently triggers only when Takakura gets back from the city (either to sell our produce or to buy us fodders. I tried buying animals, it didn't work in my game).

I think mine might be bugged, been buying fodder everyday to get him to go to city but no horse. No in autumn 3 :(

I bought a sheep the day before he brought mine back.

To trigger the event to get a horse you must be either ordering something at day 10 of Spring or any day in Summer. For example: Bird Feed or Fodder. Or sell your produce in the bin.

Make sure that you DON'T order a animal since Takakura needs to go to the city to get the horse. If you order a animal he will be back at the farm.
