Poor optimization?

I have a very good PC with 6750XT and 5600x processor but this game lags. When walking through town, the game constantly micro stutters.

Also, randomly, the games mouse cursor will appear for reason.

I can't seem to figure out what it happening. Anyone else having this issue? I never had this issue with Friends of Mineral Town.

Often, the mouse cursor appears when I'm playing the game too. In my case, the micro stutters are very infrequent, but the load times are always excessive.

This is especially weird, because the Nintendo Switch version has not given me any of these problems.

the mouse reappears when external apps update.

such as a song in your playlist switching, or a video on youtube starting, or a game on steam updating.

atleast from my testing that is.

i dont have the microstutter personally so dont know about that one. the game runs near perfectly even with mods. with an rtx 2060. I wish I could uncap the settings to have longer shadow and LOD range tbh

Reading this kind of topic is always sadden me. Even after decades of PC gaming exist, there is still a person that didn't understand basic thing.

There is unlimited of hardware spec, which make no human exist could make a game that fully optimized on every single PC spec, even a single differences in your build could make a big differences. It doesn't matter even if your PC build are the latest best built or not.

Does that make the game that didn't work on your PC are Poor optimization?? Hell no. It just your build doesn't optimize for this specific game. Of course that doesn't mean your PC are bad, your PC are still a good build, it just don't optimize for this game Simply as that. Its not the game fault if your PC is not optimized for the game, as long the game are working for most of PC specs that exist in this world.

People like you that think every single game should working on your best build, or its poor optimization are having an unrealistic demand. The only one that would be able to create such a game is only someone that have Godly power. No human being could do such a thing.

P.S. The one i mentioned are still only unlimited build of PC specs, it even got more complicated which each software you installed on your PC, some software might having a bad outcome to some specific game, even if the PC are fully optimized on the exact same PC built. Its not the game or the software fault though. The only one at fault is the one who demand everything should work on their PC build.

right... god forbid some one pay for a game and expect it to function properly on a machine that blows the suggested hardware req's out of the water.

if this game isnt running well on your god pc then its something on your end specifically because im running a pretty mid setup and get near perfectly smooth gameplay at max settings with reshade.

there is not a single game that is perfectly optimized for all rigs that is just how pc gaming works.

big number does not always equal perfect performance. hence why its more important to have computer knowledge and actively makes tweaks instead of buying the most expensive thing and then treating it like a console.

It could be a lot of things on my end causing the micro-stutters (such as the countless background tasks Windows 10/11 have, even when heavily modding the OS). That, and the hardware on my PC is over five years old, which could further add to this problem.

You're not wrong. But at the same time, you can't tell me it's a normal thing to expect.
It's def not a crazy thing to see someone ask if there are others with similar issues and possibly blame the game first.

IE: if many people are noticing no lag for the first 2 years of the game and then sudden lag that makes the game nearly unplayable... issue seen by multiple players with multiple ranges of pc crappyness and pc godliness alike. I was just making the point that maybe the previous poster wasn't out of line.

they arent out of line, there are just a lot of people who blame the game before evaluating the circumstances of PC gaming.

im not saying the game is perfectly optimized. but for me atleast with a 2060 I can run 60 fps at max settings with reshade and other mods with no micro stutter or lag. and im in chapter 4 with all fields filled with crops.

so this makes me think maybe the game isnt optimized for specific things like maybe AMD drivers for example since my nvidia runs it well.

it can be many things or it can be person specific, but the switch players say the game runs really well, which makes me think well then its just the classic PC thing where games run perfect for some and not so good for others yknow? Ive seen people trying to run high end games on crappy computers while having 500 tabs open on google chrome complain that their games are unoptimized due to lag and im like how dumb can you be lmao. while ive seen others have god pcs and near to no obvious issues have bad performance on games that almost everyone can run even with a potato pc.

pc gaming ranges heavily.

And this kind of response saddens me. I believe in the right for people to ask questions when troubleshooting. Take care and make sure you take a step away from things that bother you so much. You're getting too personally invested when it wasn't even a rage post, just someone trying to narrow down their issue.
