"Unexpected at this time" error message launching Hammer
I'm trying to launch Hammer from a command prompt. The commands are:
>cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Half-Life 2\bin" >hammer.bat
and I get this error message:
\Steam\steamapps\common\half-life was unexpected at this time.

I don't know what to do to launch Hammer.

Don't try to run it from a command prompt, it's a windows application and needs to be run from within windows. Just double-click the batch file (hammer.bat) from within your windows explorer.

The batch file just sets and/or checks the VPROJECT environment variable before launching the hammer.exe application, if vproject variable is already set you can just run hammer.exe

If the variable is not set you'll get an error when trying to start it. You can also use the set_sdk_env.bat (in the same folder) to first set the env variable, then run hammer.exe.

OR

If you don't want to mess around with all of this you can check this out...

I personally havn't tried it but from what I read it works well.

Hammer.exe seems to be working. Thanks.

When I run hammer.bat from Windows, it just opens a blank command prompt for a fraction of a second and then quits.
